Hi everyone! My name is Julian I just applied to WHCC RN program for the Fall 2021 cohort. I thought it would be necessary to create this topic to discuss and talk and freak out about the upcoming nursing selection together LOL. I applied with 91.35 points. Has anyone else applied yet???

It is a bit disappointing. I really wanted to see if I was offered a seat at West Hills as well as COS, so I could make an informed decision on which program would better suit my life. Due to the delay from WH, I may not be able to make that decision, given if I was accepted into both. We have to complete the requirements for COS and accept the seat no later than 4/21.

The last anyone heard we are supposed to know the 16th. Hopefully that is still the case and it will give you a couple of days to decide. Congrats on getting into COS.

Hopefully you will have enough time if we are notified by Friday. That still gives you about 4-5 days to decide. However, if that isn’t the case, I would still accept COS’s offer just in case, and in the event that you were offered a seat at WHC also, you could accept there and notify COS of your change of heart at that time. They could then offer your seat to an alternate. Don’t worry too much about it. The good thing is that you have at least one offer on the table. Of course it would be great to be able to choose which one better suits you, but there’s options if that were to happen. I’m sure people do that all the time, that’s why they have an alternate list ready to go in case people choose to give up their seats.

Yes, I am very grateful to have been offered a seat anywhere. I do understand there are a few days in between when we expect the WH letters and the COS deadline. The only issue with that is that COS requires you to have purchased a $100 package for a background check and drug test and to have both those requirements completed before 4/21/21. It would be almost impossible to wait to see if you got into WH, then decide on COS and meet the requirements in a short few days. Again, I'm grateful for the opportunity, either way if I am offered a seat to WH as well, it will open a spot for an alternate!

I completely understand. I didn’t know that part. Although, if you were offered the seat at WH and found that WH schedule/curriculum, distance, or any matter fit your life better even after having spent the $100, maybe it would be a matter of choosing what was more worth it. For example, if distance was the issue, those $100 would quickly be recovered in the gas you’d be saving with choosing the other option. But again, everybody’s situation is different. All I’m trying to say is that you should try to stay optimistic in either situation. You are very blessed ??
