West Coast University Spring 2018 BSN

Hello, I am starting this thread because I don't see any current threads for the 2018 spring start so I thought I'd make one.

I applied to WCU for the spring 2018 and was wait listed at number 5 and was granted acceptance into the BSN program. Everything has been smooth so far except my financial aid officer. Can't say I'm a fan of hers; anyways, I wanted to see if there were any classmates who would be joining me in their GE classes such as critical reasoning, pathophysiology, first year seminar?

It would be nice to make friends through out this 2 year process.

@FutureNurse2308 We are the first cohort having to take the TEAS VI test again as a part of FYS even if you already took the TEAS and HESI, but it is not too bad since it's just points off if you fail which you most likely won't as long as you have either taken it or study it :)

Hey I was just wondering for those whole already did their titers what happens if your results say you are equivocal???

Hi everyone, I will be going for Fall 2018 cohort. I currently got my first official class schedule on student portal, I was wondering if someone knows if although my schedule is set by them, if i can still switch the english 101 'in class' to an 'english 101 'online class'? I got scheduled in a time where I don't think my employer will approve :(. Also, is there a way you can view a class with other times to see if you can get in for a different time? It's a weekend so I wont be able to know answers til monday, but was wondering if one of you guys might know the answer. Thank you :)

Usually most of the pre-requisite classes have the option to be online but they will charge you a $150 technology fee per class (this is the Dallas campus fee, it may different for other campuses) that is included into your tuition for that. I would double check with your advisor or bursar to find out if its possible to do it.

Hi shauntil07, thank you so much for your feedback. Yes, I will ask registrar if i can switch that class to online and pay $150. How do you like the program so far? How did you do on the FYS? im sad to know i have to take the Teas test again in FYS lol.Pathophysiology im nervous about as anatomy and physio are my weakness

I'm enjoying it so far! No complaints here. I took the HESI at WCU about 2 years ago so they accepted my HESI scores instead of me having to take the TEAS. I also took patho and I have to retake :( but its okay. I figure with me already taking the class before I have some idea of what I'm going to be up against. I got an A in FYS. It was just boring, busy work. That's all.

Hi shauntil07, just found out the for FYS they recently made a new policy that Teas must be taken even if you've taken it already so you went in a good term where as you did not have to take Teas lol. How's patho going so far? At least now you have an idea and I'm sure you will do way better :). You can do it!

Hi dani8282, im taking FYS. I am going onto my 2nd weekend. How was it for 2nd week? Do you take a pre-test on 2nd week then if you score 58% higher you do not have to do modules and extra assignments? or is it like even if you score higher you would still have to do modules and extra assignments throughout the next few weeks?

Hi @rochelle002 ! :) The 2nd week was not bad at all! You take the pretest and it doesn't matter at all what you score on it except for the amount of modules the smartprep will give you. If you score poorly, you will have a lot of modules, but if you score high, you will not have to do as many modules. However, everyone needs to do smart prep. Then, you take a post test online at home. The 58% or higher matters when you take the actual TEAS VI at the end. Don't worry, you'll do great! :)

Hey I uploaded documents to the complio account

Do you know how long it takes for them to review it?

@jxanne1018 It usually takes a few days at the most, but on weekdays, it should be within like 1-2 days! :)
