Are there any West Central Tech students on this site? I wanted to find out what your GPA and NLN scores were, when you entered the prgram. I have a 3.2 GPA and an NLN score of 94. Am I competitive enough? How is the program? Do you like it?
Thanks in advance.

I have not received an acceptance letter yet-I've yet to do my interview, but with your NLN score and your GPA, you should be competitive for sure. They say that you need at least an 86 on NLN and a GPA above 3.0.Good luck!
Thank you. I have been stressing over the grades. I was told that they would send out invitations for the interview some time in April. Good luck to you too!

I am in the same boat. I am waiting to hopefully get an interview and sweating it bad. I made a 97 and I have a 3.4 gpa or a 3.7 depending if my gpa transfers with my credits from KSU or not. I am hoping that being a male will help me out also. From what I have heard, your grades are definitely good enough to be competitive. Hopefully we will see each other this Fall.
Thank you thumper360. You will get an interview, your grades and score are great. Do a lot of people apply to this program?
Okay-first day in nursing school this fall, I'm yelling out "are Thumper or Blessed here with me?":coollook:
I hope to see you both! With our GPAs (mine's 3.5) and NLNs (99) we should all be there! Best wishes to both of you!
Thank you! I look forward to seeing you guys in the fall.
Hopefully so. Good luck everyone.

Wishing everyone Good Luck on their Nursing School Exceptance. I graduated from The WCTC RN Program in December 2007, (The 2nd class to go through the program). The program is great and the instructors were very hands on and good teachers. I don't know if they are letting people take the NLN test more than once, but I took it three times because I wanted a high score, which I ended up getting a 90% percentile only because NRSNG school is so competitive. Keep your grades up...
Stay positive!!!!
Thanks for the response. I have heard great things about west centrals nursing program and I really want to get in.

Hi ATL_RN,
Can you answer a few questions for me? I am looking to apply to WCTC in April 2010. I am a single mom with 3 kids, and no family here for much support. I currently work full time, and earn a pretty descent salary. With that being said, with my "descent" salary, it is also a month to month task to make ends meet. I am very careful. Is it possible to work while you are in school? And by work, I mean something in the afternoon late evening, and still be home to be mom to 3 little's that can't stay home alone? Also, can you give us a brief rundown of how your class worked? And what hospitals you worked at/with? With you having the most experience (on this site anyhow!) with WCTC, I just want to sit and pick your brain. People really do have amazing things to say about the school, and to this point, I say ditto, ditto, ditto!!! I love it there!! Ok....that's it....for now!
Hi Blessed:
I'm sorry-I do not know how to repsind to your private message. I have not had enough posts to do my own.
I have not heard anything yet. Deadline was APril 1, then they have to go through everything(probably 150-225 applicants) then choose somewhere between 50 and 80 to send out interview letters to. I assume 2-3 weeks wait. But I do not know-I have no one to ask. I tried sending questions to hopefulrn2010(current nursing student at WCTC) but I have not heard from her.She may be out of town, unable to treply(like me) or not wanting to fool with me! It is too early to get stressed-save that for when you are counting down the days for your interview!!
