Second day of school, and second day I had to call 911 for a STAFF member!

I hope this does not set a precedent for the year!!

Hope your year is starting off good!!

Oh no!

Maybe you are just getting all of the accidents out now and will have an uneventful rest of the year

I sent a staff out today too. Not 911, but she had taken a new pill and within 20 minutes was all red, full of hives and rapid pulse. Another staff took her right to our clinic which is only a few blocks away. Fun times!

Hoping and praying this isn't going to be the story of your year! I had to call once last year for a staff member, hoping it will be my only time. I'm currently doing daily BP checks on one staffer and getting some concerning numbers.

I struggle with this. A few years ago I had a staff member in SVT (had history of SVT as well). The staff really want to help but what if she coded in the car? Against her and staff wishes I called 911.

Just wondering, did you give her Benadryl?

 Yikes, so sorry your year started that way!

At my school, everyone, esp. office staff, and pregnant me included, has seemed to near the breaking point as we get started, and I worried I would see staff feeling unwell but other than one elevated temp, it's been OK. Hope things get settled down for you and for us all!

I have been told to let my school's administrative staff imagine illnesses (because they have to arrange subs and whatnot) and had a similar situation in which she and they agreed she could drive home. "I have an EpiPen," she said. I appreciate that we are all adults and can make our own choices but I could not sit down after that.
