2 Weeks until NCLEX!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey guys, so I have 2 weeks until I take this big heart pounding hand shaking nail biting test. I have been reviewing the study guide linked here and Saunders and ATI and my school offered a Sylvia Rayfield prep class which they have a 98% pass rating... I complete anywhere from 90-200 questions a day. I'm really nervous and not sure i am prepared enough... Please respond with any advise encouragement support... Anything that will help to decrease the nerves and increase the confidence!!!! Thanks

I stand corrected. This is what I was told. Luckily for me, I only had 75 questions. Below, I copied this from the NCSBN website:

Items are administered following the principles of CAT. Candidates are NOT randomly selected to receive a designated number of examination items. As a candidate takes the examination, items are selected based on the candidate's response to previous items. The exam ends when it can be determined with 95% confidence that a candidate's performance is either above or below the passing standard, regardless of the number of items answered or the amount of testing time elapsed (six-hour maximum time period for the NCLEX-RN examination and five hour maximum time period for the NCLEX-PN examination).

Does "when in doubt pick C" ever work in anyones favor?

That absolutely does not work. In fact my review book advised against that. Get it narrowed down to two and then work from there.

I am very proud to say that i just passed my NCLEX last week ! my best advice is to remain calm, although it may seem like the hardest thing to do at this point, try... do not study the night before your test... telling you not to study at all that day would be a joke, or at least to me it was..but at least just relax the night before... but just do questions dont try to learn anything thing new... you only kidding yourself at that point... just think i made it this far, i graduated... i KNOW this.. and as others before me said dont freak out if the computer goes over 75-85 questions. my test did and i PASSED! :)... i used ATI all throughout school, as well at the app on my phone. i went to a Hurst review that also had a high pass rate like yours your mentioned. i have done what seems like a million Hogan questions, along with saunders and kaplan. the big scary test is just like any other we have been staring at all though school, you just have to use your brain, remember your ABC's and think like a nurse! you got this!!!!!! good luck!

I practiced questions every day and used the book, 301 RN Study Tips. After all the time invested it paid off. The practice and review made me more confident and reduced anxiety. With some practice and reviw you wil do well, Good luck!
