Weekly Covid Newsletter for School Nurses

I have a dual role in my district, health educator being one of them.  Our nurse leader has asked me to put together a weekly newsletter for the district school nurses with Covid specific updates, info, etc.  Mind you, this is FOR the nurses, who I am fairly confident are up to their eyeballs in Covid information ?  BUT since I am being told this is essential to my role, as a school nurse, what might you want to be updated on? I am pretty sure this will sit in their inbox unread, LOL. I was thinking maybe a section with continuing education links.  We are already inundated with NASN information so don't want to use that info.  Would appreciate any ideas.  Thanks.

I wanna know where we are all meeting socially to decompress!!

Oh geez, like you need one more thing to do!

anyway, I guess maybe how many new covid cases that were diagnosed in your city/town or district you serve? Maybe in your state? (Though I think you are in MA like me, so kinda like a mini review of the daily numbers but total for week, which you can easily get off the the news or MA.gov). (not that any of this is helpful, because like you said it we are inundated with this stuff!).

Also, what about any free testing places so nurses can pass that info onto families if needed, any new "rules" that have been put out there for the state or city,  any webinars (NEUSHA, BUSHIELD), NASN briefly updates, any new district info (like sports or changes in plans), Flu shot clinics....

Good luck!

Echoing this. I am also in MA.

I think if any new DESE changes came out, if any new school nursing PD is out there (Children's just did an great COVID series and it was free and is still available to watch for free, for example).

If any new COVID mobile sites are active that week in your community (I know in same areas they have been rotating bi-weekly) and links to resources to work with students virtually as a school nurse specific to your district might be nice.

And yes, also ways to de-stress. If I find the bandwidth, I want to arrange a vent and virtual hug each Zoom for school nurses - BYOB ;).

(And this isn't teaching - but maybe featuring one of your nurses each week in a little getting to know each thing? Just helps with de-stressing.)
