Has anyone done this?
My school is offering this class, Psych 1A (1A, 101, 1, etc), during the winter break, its a 3 week online class. I'm also doing a CNA class during this time from 4-8 M-F, so I'll already/still be in work mode.
I'd only take this class if I knew I'd be able to get an A, so I'm just looking for advice. Would this be a bad idea?

extremely doable.
His website says you have to do 6 hrs of studying per day, plus weekends. hmmm.. i'm not sure. will it really be that much time?

i completely disagree. i took an 8 week psych 101 over the summer and only pulled an a because i had 50 extra credit points. its a lot of studying and understanding concepts and applying them. i would never take a psych class in 3 weeks. i also had to write 2 or 3 papers as well, plus discussion boards.

I'm not sure what your other obligations are or if you are a ft student. If you are a ft student then it sounds like you have the equivalent of an entire workday before the cna class and even a few night time hours after the course - assuming you get home after class by nine p.m. And you have weekends. So depending on what else you have going on in your life if you are able to put all your focus on school for the three weeks then I say you can fit both courses into your schedule and do well in both of them.

I'd say do it and get it over with. Psych isn't too bad. I took it over summer online and it was fine. I was working and taking 2 other classes too.

Very doable. I took this in a condensed form as well and easily made an A. It was a very easy class. Some reading yes, but it was open book tests since they were online and so you really just had to previes the chapters before the test so you knew where to look. We didn't have any papers or anything like that. Just read the chapters and took tests, and they were all multi choice.

There is a lot to learn and you really need to make sure you can apply it and remember the concepts. Just getting the A and getting it done with is an after thought. Remember Erickson's Stages as those are the KEY in NCLEX type questions and Manslow's Hierarchy as well. I haven't even started NS yet and I have already started practicing NCLEX questions and ALOT of them are based on the Psy101 and Dev Psy Concepts.
OH and Psy. = a lot of papers to write. CNA a breeze!!

Its doable, I did that last year during the winter, it was a lot of studying, but doable. I just signed up for a 4 week Chem class, I like classes condensed and everyday, it helps me do better because the info is fresh!
