Stars I'm glad he's doing a little better, I hope you get the chance to speak to the palliative NP soon

Hi Tweety

Wasn't too bad at work yesterday, started a half hour early and did manage to leave on time. Hoping for the same today

Went for a walk after work and emailed some family members I hadn't contacted in a while, as well as texting J.  Also emailed with a longtime friend now in Viriginia

Afterwards went to book club,  was disappointed that they had us at a long table in the main dining room instead of our square of tables in the separate room.  Guess a local politician was having an event there.  Was a bit tricky but we still had a discussion, fewer than normal, maybe about a dozen total

Today have a haircut after work.  Will also try to do the grocery shopping although it is supposed to rain all night

Will be a bit warmer today, in the mid 60s, supposed to rain all night, and rain is likely from tonight through the weekend into Monday

Hello all!

Joe, what book is your club reading now?

We recently watched a new(er) series on Amazon, based on the Agatha Christie books.  It was done in France, and was in French, and featured, instead of Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple, an Inspector Jean Lavoisiere and his assistant, Emile Lampion.  "Les Petites Muertres" (the little murders)  We enjoyed it (via subtitles) and I wondered, watching this new adaptation of her works, what the books are like.  So I downloaded a collection of Agatha Christie books, to read.  We'll see how they compare with the screen versions.

Slept OK last night, probably got in close to 6 (interrupted, as always) hours.  I walked yesterday with two friends, 3 miles and close to 8K steps.  Today I will walk some too.

It is partly cloudy out but no chance of rain, per forecast.  Today is dh's birthday, he is 69!!  Happy Birthday dh!

No Stars, prayers continue for Mr. Stars, looks like he is making slow progress.  Hope the news today (of paracentesis and possible thoracentesis) is good, and helps him breathe.  Good you are resting, conserving your energy.  How helpful that the neighbor is flexible about when she can stay with Nannie!  Thank you for keeping us informed.

To all, have a good day!

No sleeping late these days! I got a call from the hospital at 9 AM, but since I had the phone  on the bedside table and I was sleeping on my right side, covering my 'good' ear, I didn't hear the first call.

Then I got a message from the dgt saying she wasn't sure she would get down here today or tomorrow. She thanked me for keeping her so well informed ( ! ) and said she would keep ME informed about when she planned to visit, and also said she would try to come over to sit with Nannie and Momo. Huh! Whaddya know!

So the calls this AM were from each of the ones who were going to do each of the two procedures. Each had to have confirmation of my agreement to have them done, which I gave. Going after the left lung encapsulation will be done this morning. Regarding the  paracentesis, they said they are going to try to squeeze him into their schedule today, so I dunno if they will get to or not.

I'm not going in to the hospital today, though. Aside from maybe trying to go over to the pharmacy to get my 2nd Hep A + B injection, and my 2nd Shingles shot, I'm staying home. Next week I will get the 'NEW! IMPROVED!" Covid shot, and find out if I need another flu shot.

Momo is being an angel; she waits for me to get up, doesn't harrass me to wake up. Then I got up and dressed, brought her downstairs to give her breakfast. By the time I had gone up to the kitchen to get her food and my coffee, she had already peed and pooped on her underpad. I put her food down and as usual, she didn't want to eat while I was in the room. I went in Nannie's bathroom to get a fresh pad for Momo, and when I came back into the den she ran away from her food dish. Trying to break her of that, I took her over to her food and had to hold her down to keep her from taking off. I fed her two pieces of the food, and walked back to the sofa and ta-da! She began and finished off eating ALL of her breakfast. Whew! I'm guessing she got chased off from the food dish when she was living at the animal hoarders. I know my friend's niece said she spent a lot of time hiding under some furniture because most of the other dogs were bigger than her and she kept getting knocked around by them.

Right now I am plunked in the dip of the sofa which my orifice has permanently caved in over 7 years, and Momo is curled up next to my right hip. I am enjoying my last few minutes of peace and quiet before I have to get Nannie up.

Maybe I'll bring down a few stacks of Nannie's papers to see if I can locate the Ford's title. Maybe I will clean the glovebox out, too......get it ready to be hauled off. I am thinking of the ad we see "WE BUY ANY CAR", to maybe get one or two hundred dollars from it. If not, I can call one of the donation services, though we won't be able to take it off the taxes, because none of us do tax forms any more! Whatever, I am going to get it gone, but first I need the title and to get that license plate off to turn it in.

Details, details, details!

Of course, you know I will be back here with any updates.

Good morning. It is raining, again, so I am going to skip working at the demo garden today. It is nearly the end of the season anyway. Next week is "graduation", when we will get our official certification as Master Gardeners. I am thinking of going bike shopping for an e-bike today. Yesterday was bleh. Because I am using an old pair of glasses with an old RX, my vision is blurry. I did manage to mend some clothes for eldest ds, without burning myself with the iron, or putting the needle through a finger, LOL. I'll drop those off today, and maybe go see sis. I hope I get my glasses back before next Tuesday, when we are going to a concert in Tacoma and will spend the night. The dogs are pretty funny. They play hard, wrestling, and running and bumping, and playing keep-away with toys. And then, they just plop down and fall asleep. The little one is teaching us all to pick up our stuff. She is a sock thief!

Joe, yup, long tables make discussion tough, other than with the people in your immediate vicinity. Tis the season for politicking , we have local elections coming up.

Tweety, that's too bad about bowling, but good that you had a good time.

Stars, I hope you find the title easily. And that your dh gets his taps.

Hi Dianah. That's sounds like a nice, long walk. Happy BD to your hubby!

Not an otherwise "free' day any more! Nannie had gotten up in the middle of the night, hung her wet pads on a hanger, balled up her pull-ups, hung up her wet PJ bottoms, too. And the bed is visibly soaked with about a 20" diameter wet spot of urine on all sheets and blankets. And what she had put on after that was 2 pairs of perfectly clean and dry pants which also got soaked. "It's a beautiful day in the laundry room, a beautiful day to launder; won't you do mine?" (sorry Mr. Rogers!)

I am also doing the accumulation of glasses and cups in the kitchen sink, and wondering where all the teaspoons have gone!

AND....wonder of wonders, my SiL sent me a text that she has next Monday off and to let her know if she can help me with anything. Maybe I can use part of Monday to get my overdue fingernails done.

Actually I would prefer everyone stay away today; I really LIKE being by myself, y'know; I mean every-so-often it is very healing to have no one around. I lived alone for so many years before I got married, but after 34 years I still crave to have more time to myself! Oh well, be careful what you wish for, eh?

They did the paracentesis and got out 1.5 liters. So because he is so restless, they will wait til tomorrow to poke the left lung encapsulation and will leave a 'cath'/bulb drain in for that one. (You know what I mean....)

I sorted through a foot high stack of papers and only kept pertinent ones. I still have an equal amount to go through later. But no title so far. There are also other places to look for the title, so I haven't given up yet. I also cleaned out the glove box of the Ford, and anywhere else in the car where there was 'stuff' to investigate.....except I still have to look in the trunk.

Watching the Braves play the Phillies, and the Braves are down by 6....?.... However sometimes they rally by the 6th inning, so here's hoping! I am flinging a hex on Bryce Harper (Phillies) every time he is on the screen, and saying "BOOOOO!"

G'day!

That's a lot of fluid.  He should feel better.

I had to request a copy of my title when I bought my car.  Otherwise the state keeps it electronically but even though I'm paperless in every other way, I wanted the Title.  I keep it in my fire safe in my bedroom.

Not much going on.  Had a 6:1 ratio day in med-surg but wasn't in charge.  The charge nurse gave me two admissions but decided it wasn't important to tell me and I found out when I got called for report.  Classy.

Happy birthday to your dh, dianah! Hope he had a good day.

My book club is reading The Haunting of Hill House which I had never read. I'm enjoying it but have been in a highly distracted state of mind so finding it hard to stay focused. We all will read/tell a ghost story at our October meeting, too.

Hubs and I are hearing mice (presumably) in the walls. Last night we thought one of the cats was scratching at our door wanting to come in the bedroom. But it wasn't a cat... In fact, Binx came along and was very intrigued by the sounds on the other side of the wall. So, great. You'd think with 3 cats we wouldn't have mice. I hate to think about it being anything bigger (!)

Ado, When my mother, sister and I went to see The Haunting of Hill House in a theater, way back when, I sat with my fingers gripping the arms of the seat. It was scary....more than a few times we jumped and gasped. I kind of liked the movie better, though Shirley Jackson was a good writer. We used to drive around Western Massachusetts to try to find Hill House. Never did find it, but many seem to think it is still up there somewhere.
