Other things I forgot at the store: Laundry Detergent; stain tx; Bread; and may get a rotisserie chicken. It is supposed to rain a LOT tomorrow, and if that's the case, we won't be going over to SiL's for Thanksgiving meal, especially if she is serving late afternoon.
Nannie has been up in her chair since 6:30 AM, at least. I came down with Momo's breakfast because she woke me up early. She wouldn't eat while Nannie is up, even though she was asleep. I suppose when I take Nannie in for a wash and dress, Momo will use that time to eat.( Leftover behavior from when she lived at the animal hoarder's place.)

Okay done with the dressing; Nannie is all excited to go out in the car and sit to wait while I go into the store. I texted SiL and told her we probably wouldn't be attending her late afternoon T-Day serving due to the potential of HEAVY rain in the afternoon, and I am somewhat of a sissy now because I don't like driving in the dark and the rain any more. Used to go out driving no matter what the weather, but now I feel if I don't HAVE TO go out, I'm not going to go out! She texted me back and said they were going to have way more food than they can eat, so BiL will bring some over here for us after they get through with the earlier serving (for her dgt/granddgt/ and daughter's fiancee'.)
By the way, we rec'd a "Save the Date" card....my niece will be getting married on June 21st. This will be her third husband. Her first one died from pancreatic cancer, the second one turned out to be a real manipulative jerk, so they are in the process of divorcing. This 'new' guy she has known since grade school and he has always secretly had a crush on her, so by all accounts he is a keeper. I hope it works out for her!
The dryer buzzer has gone off, so I will take the towels out and put Nannie;s laundry in. Then we will be going out because Nannie is chomping at the bit!
I am taking a little break from housecleaning in prep for family coming over for dinner tomorrow. The bathrooms are done. I am going to vacuum and dust the living room and bedroom, clean the kitchen and call it good. And I'm going to make an apple pie. I have a load of laundry to dry and fold, too.
We got third place at trivia last night. I just drew blanks in the category about corvids, which are birds like crows and ravens. Oh well. Youngest ds's shoulder feels better today. He been doubling up on Aleve, and went to work today. He won a small ham at the raffle that he missed yesterday, and we will heat it up tomorrow.
Oh gosh, Joe. I hope your dad gets relief soon. I remember giving daptomycin for endocarditis, I didn't realize it is used for c. diff. Like you, I would have expected flatly or oral vancomycin.
Stars, hopefully your shopping goes smoothly, and Nannie drops off as soon as you get home.
Dianah, I fear your soup would be too spicy for my dh's tastes. He is slowly starting to enjoy a little more heat, but only in small increments. I snuck some pepper flakes into the spaghetti sauce the other night, and I thought it was great. He was not convinced.
Hi Tweety and Annie, and any others who stop by.
To Infinity and Beyond...
The very last thing I said to Nannie before I went out to the carport to bring the car around to the back door, was to stay in her chair, and I said it clearly and emphatically TWICE, and Nannie said "Okay," Then as I came around in the car, to the back, there's Nannie standing in the doorway with a big smile on her face....she had crawled out over the footrest again. I threw my hands up in the air and she said, "What's wrong?" I just said, calmly that she was supposed to wait in the chair until I came inside to get her, and she looked surprised and said, "Oh, okay, I'm sorry." I guess she was afraid I'd leave without her.
What's the point of even TRYING to get her to remember something for 30 seconds? I give up, and will have to figure out a different way to do things. And I also decided to not go nuts the 37th time in an hour she wants to show me her outfit and how the colors go together. I'm not going to tell her that I helped her get dressed in that outfit just a little while ago. I'm just going to do an "Uh-huh, very pretty," and leave it at that, even if I have to say it 37 times if that's required. Jeeze, I'M the one who CAN'T seem to remember how much worse her brain is now! OY!
She is fighting a nap that is trying hard to get her to doze off. She looks down and inspects her outfit, then her eyes close, then she opens them and looks out the window, then looks back at her outfit, and her eyes close again for another few seconds. Sleep, Nannie, sleeeep! She opened her eyes and looked at me and smiled. I told her she didn't have to fight napping because it is still 2+ hours until supper. Of course she said "Okay." But then I had to tell her to close her eyes again and rest, and she said "Thank-you, honey." I'll leave it up to y'all to decide if she did what I said to do, or not. 😉
🤔 Hmmmmm.... is it 😳, or is it 😴 ?
Have folded all her towels, and now am waiting for her clothes to dry. I have to do her laundry about every day, or every other day if I am 'lucky';and gather her trash from the bathroom every day. The fact is even though now there is a larger wastebasket in there, it still fills up way before bedtime.
I hope your dad is feeling OK, Joe. I didn't know about daptomycin being used either. Not sure what my sister got last year.
I made the flan, and cornbread for dressing. Also got a haircut. Hubs went to choir practice but I stayed home since Twin A is at work and Twin B is sleeping. Will make myself get busy again in a little bit to finish desserts for tomorrow. My cousin who lives not far away and is single (divorced, no kids) might stop by tomorrow which would be nice.
G'day
Worked the floor today and started with an admission, two blood draws, a post op that I discharged soon after, and it went down hill from there, but actually got done on time. I did get another admission. All my patients were very nice. One poor 79 year old was staying in a FEMA motel because a tree went through her roof. She has family close by but didn't ask why they let her stay alone in a hotel like that. It's at one of the resorts at the beach that are using their upper floors for FEMA while they repair the ground floors.
I have hot and spicy foods for every cuisine. I have a Korean hot sauce, a Vietnamese hot sauce, sriracha, and Italian red pepper blend, fresh Thai hot chilies in the freezer, Mexican, on and on. Mo hotta mo betta

Totally agree with this plan!

My tomatillo soup recipe would be pretty mild for you, I'm thinking! 🙂
Tweety, it is amazing, with all those hot and spicy ingredients, that your tongue doesn't curl up and cry every time you eat!
Though, I do have to say that since I lost my sense of taste (way before the Age of Covid) I have come to enjoy hotter (ie spicier) foods....because the variations of the heat produced by different foods/spices is interesting and not fear inducing, That and the texture and consistency of different foods help me with not having an actual sense of taste. But I really REALLY REALLY miss being able to enjoy roasted garlic; it was as good as candy to me....once upon a time. *sigh*

Ado I hope your Thanksgiving prep is going well
Stars I'm glad she's been pretty quiet, hopefully you can find activities to help the depression ease
NJ22 hope your dh's shoulder injury proves to be minor
Dianah he has 6 weeks, I think he is at or past the halfway point now
Work was a bit busier than expected, didn't have time to help anyone although I did get everything done. Had a new case, which didn't help, along with one rather long call. Hoping today will be a bit quieter
After work got the grocery shopping done was surprised the stores weren't busier. Also stopped at the library and exercised
Talked to dad, the test came back positive for C diff, he's going to be on daptomycin for 10 days. Very expensive but glad the course is relatively short. He'll also be following up with an ID doctor next month
After work will meet up with the over 50 group for one of the usual monthly get togethers. Nothing else really planned. Will be nice to be off the next few days
Going to be a bit warmer today, mid 40s, although considerably colder the rest of the week
