Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes

Yesterday was not bad at work, although a bit busier than expected.  Spent some time yesterday doing  work for today,  hopefully will  mean less work for tomorrow

Was feeling pretty good most of the day but was pretty down by the end of the workday.  Odd as normally birthdays don't depress me.  But once the workday was over I was better

Did the grocery shopping as I didn't want go near the stores today.  Also picked up my little Christmas tree from Target.  Now I just need ornaments

Hopefully I'll be able to leave work a bit early today, but we'll see.  Nothing really planned for tonight but laundry and exercise

Another cooler day in the mid 40s, at least the rain has stopped

The surgery went well.  Laproscopic coli is quite a bit different than the surgeries they did when I first got into nursing.  She has a bit of pancreatitis so she does not feel well. Home today is the plan.

Thank you for the well wishes.

Once again I woke up and didn't want to get up, as I was feeling very groggy. I don't seem to be able to stop reading and turn out my light before 2 AM, though I tell myself I will turn out the light at 1 AM....but when you are a 'print-junkie' it is hard to take your eyes off the page and put the bookmark in place.

Nannie is up and dressed, has had her breakfast and meds. When she dozes off I have to run out to pick up some pull-ups for her; put the last one on her this morning. Also need to stock up on dogfood.

Have an odd note in my notebook/brain, that  says "REPLACE_______" and that's IT! What it is I was making a note to replace, I have no idea!

Weather is going to be mid-60's and cloudy with a chance of rain; it rained HARD last night. I love the sound of rain on the roof. Then tomorrow will be sunny and cool, but oh, on Friday it is supposed to be down in the 50's ! Brrr! (Yeah, I know, what am I going to do when it actually gets COLD?)

Not sure if we will be going over to BiL and SiL's place for Thanksgiving dinner, or if they will drop off two plates of dinner here. Kind of depends on if SiL's symptoms (of Covid) are past the point of contagion. I really don't need for Nannie to pick up anything, as I am not wanting her to get sick; last thing we need at this point, since hubby's death and consequential bureaucratic paper-snarls are not yet settled. I wouldn't mind (this is terrible to say) if she had to spend a day or two at the hospital, just to give me some free time to dig into the mess here at the house. She hasn't had one of her shots, though I'll have to check with the pharmacist about which one it is she needs. Wouldn't do any good to try to get her shot taken care of today, though, and then after tomorrow is the dreaded 'official' Black Friday, a wonderful day to stay away from any and all retail malls.

I have to take a shower later on, after my errand run. Momo is going to get to stay home again, instead of being my 'corsage'. I'm convinced there is an electro-magnet between her belly and my left shoulder.

Finishing my coffee and then it will be time to get the errands done!

I did not want to get up either, but I was achy and the best remedy for that is getting up. I've been cleaning the kitchen and the bathrooms, and hallway floor. The dogs have been in and out, tracking in leaves and sticks. Grrr. I've got celery and onions chopped for dressing, and I'm about to start pies--apple and cherry. Grandsons are coming out for the night, and I hope we can play a game. I think we will get takeout for dinner. dh is brining his turkey, and he says he will vacuum the foyer and stairs. I won't be holding my breath. The weather is overcast and blah.

We got notice of an initial payment from the insurance to repair our roof and electrical. At first it looked low, but the insurance agent said this was just the start, and they will reassess as the roofer removes shingles to see exactly how much damage was done.

Pancreatitis can be rough to endure, but should resolve quickly if it related to blockage.

As usually happens, dh has been to the grocery store everyday for the last 4 days. All the counters are full of stuff, and it's stacked in the hall. I swear, he would be a hoarder if he was on his own. He sees something he thinks needs stocking up on, and buys it, even though we may have three of it, all ready. Like peanut butter or mayo. Or brown sugar, or salted peanuts in the shell. I have a cupboard just for spices. It is full, with more on the counter. And at least 10 different BBQ rubs. Arggh.

Hello all!

I made a "Tuscan Bean Soup" that we will eat tonight.  I just returned from a trip to the store for a few things, not many.  The store, predictably, was crowded!  AND their electronics have been wonky since 9am this morning, per the cashier I spoke with.   It works for CREDIT only; once you enter your PIN for a DEBIT purchase, it kicks the transaction out!  She says this ALWAYS happens on very busy days -- which makes a busy day even more frustrating, I'm sure!  She weathered it with good humor, and guided me through my purchase.  But then again, I would have expected good humor from someone who sported a turkey "hat", and a shirt emblazoned with "Leftovers are for quitters!!"   It was nice to meet up with someone so cheerful!

Dh is busy on the online jam.   We will finish a Poirot episode during dinner tonight.  Tomorrow we will pick up oldest and take him out to our favorite steakhouse.  Should be enjoyable!

No Stars, hope your errand went smoothly, and plans for tomorrow are ironed out.  I always grin when I think of Momo being a shoulder corsage...  LOL!

nursej22, pies sound good, and stuffing/dressing is ALWAYS good, IMO, with the chopped onions and celery...  and GRAVY!!

tmb, good to hear the procedure went well.  Hope recovery is smooth.

Joe, how large is your tree?  And will you be getting regular-sized ornaments, or mini ornaments?  (it's not a Charlie Brown-type tree, is it???)  Should be festive!

Have a good evening!

G'day.

Worked the floor.  They pulled the tech at 9AM.  Bleh....

TMB, glad the surgery went well.

Y'know, I went out to the grocery store, and after I got there I decided I'd just go ahead and get 90% of the other things on the list. 'Cause who wants to shop on Thanksgiving or the day after, or even the Saturday after? Not me!

SiL sent me a text saying that they would be having Thanksgiving at 12 noon. I told her that neither Nannie nor I would have been up long enough to want to eat a big meal. BiL is going to bring plates after they are through with their meal, and I can reheat it later when we feel like eating.

Got all the dishes washed, but I still have to wash all the foons, sporks and nighves ?.

I put Nannie to bed, and Momo says it is time for us to go upstairs and go to bed. She is really thinking "SNACK!" and she twirls in circles when I say "Yahooo!" just before I give her the nibblies.

I am going to try NOT to stay up so late (early!) tonight. Wish me luck!
