Tweety hope your trip home goes smoothly

NJ22 I hope you feel better

Stars I hope that your knee recovers soon

Bit busier day at work yesterday, although not too bad despite having one person out.  That person is now back so today should be a bit easier

After work did the grocery shopping and then went out to dinner with the church group.  The Chinese place was OK, had an unusually small crowd of 7

After work tonight the meetup group is meeting at a Thai place, should be interesting, expecting a big crowd

Will be considerably cooler today, will only get up to about 70

Good morning!

Joe, sounds like you're having a good social life.

I made it home and was able to get the dogs.  There was some storm and we had a fly around and there was talk to landing in another town but eventually we were cleared to land and we were 1.5 hours late.  Makes 4 out of the last 4 trips I've take where there's been some kind of issue.  But it could have been worse.  May is supposedly our driest month so leave it to me to travel on the one day there are bad storms.

Today I'm going to regroup and do some laundry.  Get back to the gym and get some CEUs.

Tweety, one local meteorologist says the continued cloudy and stormy here means the temps will remain in the 70s for a while. No complaint here. Glad you were able to get home and get the dogs, even though your arrival was delayed.

Our choir is making plans to get together for dinner next Wednesday night. This Sunday will be the last time we sing until the end of the Summer.

I tried taking melatonin (took 6mg) last night and I had a lot less trouble getting to sleep. Lately I've been uncomfortable, itching, tossing, turning ... you name it. Woke up still feeling groggy (maybe I'll try just 3 mg) but at least didn't feel like I'd been beaten up all night.

Drove to the car repair place so Hubs could drop off "my" car (that I never drive because Twin A does). It needs some maintenance before the guys drive it Indiana next month. Hubs expect some expensive needs. That, added to the fact that the vet bills have been high lately, means I might need to take some money from my retirement account. At least there isn't a penalty now that I have passed age 59.5. Maybe I'll get enough to throw some more money at stepson's situation.  I feel like I'm being ghosted by the attorney and the potential guardian.

Stars, I'm sorry your gypsies are acting up. I hope you haven't done damage to your knee.

Hello all!

Tweety, glad you are back home safely, in spite of circling for 1.5 hours before landing!  Hope you can get rested up; sounds like it was a good trip.  No regrets. ?

Joe, hope the meetup dinner is good, and well-attended!

Ado, hope the melatonin continues to help with your sleep.  Hope the car repairs are relatively inexpensive but effective.

No Stars, hope the gypsies leave your knee (and DON'T go elsewhere except AWAY!).

We enjoyed yesterday's visit to Disneyland.  This is the last visit before our passes are "blocked" for the Summer, which is fine with us, as Summer is too hot to go, in our opinion.  We got to hear/see three of our favorite bands, and visit with two of our musician friends.  We went Dapper, and when we strolled through Bantuu-land, we were stopped by two Stormtroopers and (a very slender) Darth Vader, reminding us to keep our eyes peeled and collect information for The Order.  Of course, I agreed to -- told 'em I always do, as a parent!

We didn't go on any rides but walked and people-watched, and shared a jalapeno cheese-filled pretzel in the Disneyland park.  When we walked over to California Adventure park, we watched at the Grizzly River Run ride, as ppl in the rafts hurtled down the waterfall at the very end of the ride.  It's always entertaining!  Dh says he remembers going on the ride 5 times in a row, with oldest ds.  "I got a little tired of it, then!" he says!

Today I have an eye appointment.  Walk with friend was cancelled, she caught a cold.  Heh.  We walked enough yesterday!  I know, I know: yesterday isn't TODAY!

Have a good day!

Some flowers from the parks:

Hmmm, a little blurry there!  Sorry!

And yes, we went Dapper!

Boooful flowers, dianah! And boooful Dappers! I hope your eye appt goes well. Hubby has to go get his left eye checked, as he has been c/o ?blurriness? I tell him that especially as a diabetic he should not allow that eye problem to linger. He has an appt w/ the hairdresser tomorrow to have his overgrown beard trimmed up and the beard that's grown (like kudzu!) on his neck and cheeks shaved off, and a haircut. I have to help him take a shower in a little while. I am going to put the shower-seat in the tub, and will wash his back and legs/feet. I sure don't want him to get dizzy and fall in the tub!

Joe, My favorite restaurant in Nashville was a cafeteria-style Thai restaurant. I went there a couple of times a week, and when I walked in the door, one of the folks behind the food-line would ask, "The usual?" Then they heaped the foods on my plate. Of course that was many years ago and I could polish off a full plate of just about anything. Now my appetite doesn't allow me to eat near as much as I used to! After I've had enough, my gut says STOP, and I do. But I end up w/ leftovers which I don't mind at all. Last time we went to the Chinese buffet, I totally filled up on egg-drop soup with green onions and crispy noodles. YUM!

Ado, I didn't exactly injure my knee; my knee injured me! Today it feels 'heavy' and I have gotten a few twinges, but with no sharp pains, thank goodness! I am conscientiously remembering to REST. It isn't easy! I look at one spot or another and think, "I'll just...." but then I remember: NO YOU WON"T! Not today!

Tweety, didja get dizzy going around in circles for 1.5 hours?  ? No, silly me, I know ya didn't! Bet your dogs were happy to see you!

I would love to have a cat or two, and/or a dog. Right now I am taking care of the birdfeeders. Yesterday or the day before, when I hadn't gotten out to fill the feeders, a squirrel came up to the glass door and peered in, as if to remind me the seeds need to be put out. And I hung the hummingbird feeder last night. Today I was sitting on the sofa, and a female hummer ate heartily and THEN, as if thanking me, she came and hovered right in front of the glass door for like 20 seconds or so, looking in, and then went back to the feeder. Hubby said she was just checking her hairdo. Yuh, right. I have had hummingbirds do this to me many times, even when I'm sitting outside and they hover about 3 feet in front of my face. Especially if their feeder is low on their 'food'. I read something on-line about crows being able to recognize faces and seeming to know one person from another. Doesn't surprise me. Oh, and at a zoo, an orangutan saw a woman carrying a little baby and came over to the glass wall, got the attention of the mother by tapping on the glass and pointing to the baby, and making a 'come here' motion with its hand, so it could get a good look at the baby, face-to-face. Very sweet.

There's another baseball game on tonight and the next four nights after that. Well, Saturday's game is an afternoon game, but that's neither here nor there. They didn't come out well playing the Dodgers for 3 games, but they will be playing the Phillies for three or four games now.

Yes, Dianah, lovely pictures. I should take some of the garden I'm volunteering at, they are just now starting to come into bloom. I was there this morning, and in amongst some of the taller perennials I spotted a dead rat! Eek ! On closer inspection, it was only half a rat. (insert vomit emoji). I found one of the park staff and he kindly scooped it up and took it to bury. I moved to another area and disturbed some little bitty stingy ants, but they crawled all over me, up my legs and arms, and into my gloves. That was the signal for me to be done.

I've just come in from my yard, after some weeding, and just poking around to see what's blooming and what's sprouted.

I hope Dianah's eye check went smooth. Gosh I hate those!

go away gypsies!

Prolonging a flight for an hour and a half sounds miserable. If I have to endure a delay, I would just as soon be on the ground, with the bathroom easily accessible.

Yes, Annie, best get the car stuff done. You hate for the kids to break down on the road and be at the mercy of some unscrupulous garage! Or have to wait for a part.

I've tried melatonin in the past and didn't like it. But a person has got to sleep! I've been lucky lately, I usually drop off rather quickly. Knock on wood.

Thanks for all the positive thoughts, eye appt went well.  New glasses ordered.  I turned in 6 pair that I can't use, that had just been sitting around the house.  When I asked, the front desk ppl said yes, they recycle/donate used glasses.  I'm glad I brought them!  Apparently my RX has changed a little.  What has changed is, my left eye is noticeably more blurry than my right, sans glasses.  MD said a film is growing over the lens implant, and this is apparently not uncommon.  It can be "fixed" during an office visit, with a laser treatment.  She said it's not urgent, and to talk with my PMD when I am ready to proceed.

I just got back from the Dollar Tree.  One of the bluegrass association member's granddaughters was recently treated at a children's hospital.  She is home now, and doing well.  She is collecting donations of puzzles, games, crayons, etc that she will give to the children's hospital.  So I cruised through the Dollar Tree, collecting what might be useful.  I will bring the lot to the camping jam this weekend.  It is nice of her to do this, and we are glad to help.

Tina Turner, RIP!?

GYPSIES, STAY AWAY!  No Stars, scrub that Mr. No Stars well!!  ???

nursej22, would love to see pics of plants and flowers!  But I agree re: dead rats or partial rats: EWWWW!!  And no stinging ants!

Need to do a load of laundry tonight, better get to it.

Have a good evening!

So, this afternoon I had to put on my big-girl panties and go out to the pharmacy again, this time to pick up the blood-pressure medicine for hubby. He said he hasn't had any of them "for at least 4 days" ? because he didn't know what thy were, and he thinks he takes "too many pills". He plans to ask the doc to reduce the #'s of meds he is on. Good luck with that; everything he is supposed to take was prescribed for a reason. Now he is saying he might ask the doc about not taking anymore Paxil. RIGHT! He's a very depressed man, and I would not relish having him around if he is NOT on Paxil! I also asked the pharmacist to fill the Folic-acid, which he has been out of for, what..maybe a couple of months? He also has to call the eye doctor and get in ASAP. Aggravating person to think HE knows better than any person in the medical field. Ppfftt!

Oh, and P.S.: coming out of the pharmacy this afternoon, my left knee practically KILLED me! It took me 12 minutes to get to my car. Take a step, say 'OWWW!', take another step, take a deep breath, say 'OUCH!' and halt for  minute; same thing, over and over, all the way to the car. It was ridiculous. I put a Lidocaine patch on it when I got home, and took my pain/arthritis meds. I told hubby he was going to have to get better at keeping track of himself!
