Tweety here's hoping the house passes inspection

NJ22 here's hoping you don't catch it, good that he decided on Zoom rather  than in person

Stars I'm leaving for Madison Friday

Hi Dianah

Ado hope your DH's stomach settles down

Was a busy day at work, busier in the afternoon than the morning, settled down a bit by the end.  Hope the next 2 days are calmer

Mostly done with the packing for the trip, though there wasn't  much to do

Have grocery shopping after work, no choir practice this week

Will be in the 60s today with rain, 80s the next 2 days.  For the trip rain will mostly hold off  until Sat morning

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

J22, hope you don't get sick and your husband gets well soon.

Hope everyone's GI woes improves.  I've been learning a lot about gut health and the microbiome this past year.  Stars, what your husband ate is definitely not gut healthy.  Fiber is generally healthy for good gut health and probiotic pills don't seem to be helpful.

The inspector passed my house and made no mention of the leak stains in my garage.  He was in there to check out the water heater and had to see them.  My agent later emailed me a quote from the state's insurance plan and the rate is pretty good, so I hope that I get it and can end this chapter.  Waiting to hear from my agent today to see what the next steps are.

Best friend got free tickets to one of the museums here that the library was giving away so we're going to do that.  It's hot muggy in the upper 80's for the foreseeable future.

Have a great day.

Good morning!

Tweety, good the inspection went fairly well, and you got a good rate!  As you say, "end this chapter!"  // Best to be in an air-conditioned museum than out in the muggy 80's.  Of course, I am speaking to you, who goes to hot yoga!!  Doesn't sound like you mind the hot and muggy!

Joe, hope you have safe travels and a good trip!

Dh and I are both home with a cold: sneezing, hacking, blowing nose.  This too shall pass, but it is not pleasant.

Have a good day!

Tweety, that sounds like good news. Hope you can get the good rates. Why is insurance so expensive and hard to get? Hurricanes?

Joe, hoping for calmer days and a good trip to Madison.

dianah, hope you and your dh get to feeling better soon.

Hey, everyone!

So my second rant of the day yesterday is this: As I said before, the ER rep who had promised me data for the staff vaccination rate reporting to NHSN (and thus to CMS) didn't follow through. From now on, if I have a deadline, I will back it up 2 weeks for anyone else to get stuff to me. Lesson learned. But in the leadership huddle yesterday, on another topic, said ER rep was talking about how she is "all about accountability". It is one of her favorite things. So, yeah, I'm sitting there thinking some not very nice thoughts. The other day she kind of irritated me, too, because she was talking about a nurse at another affiliate hospital (in a VERY rural and underserved area, which means they have a very hard time getting staff). This nurse said to the HR rep, "What are you gonna do? Fire me?" and smirked. I used to say that a lot, of course not in front of HR or any other administrators. The nurse was a bit bold and kind of rude. But it really, really irritated this HR rep who then said, "I just might". I sense a personality conflict between her and me. I will do my best to be nice and get along. But I don't trust her.

Wow, Ado, just wow.  Hate when ppl are not team players.  Waiting to see how this all unfolds.

Ado, that's crazy the ER rep talks of accountability but yet blew you off.   Pot calling the kettle black.

I have a pet peeve against the phrase "what are they going to do?  Fire me?" as an excuse for behaving badly.  Mostly it's done by people working out their final notice and they call off, are late, or don't chart something, or have a bad attitude.

Dianah, hope you feel better.

The last two summers have been brutal here with covid, so I'm wondering how this year is going to go.  So many people have immunity from either having it in the past or vaccination, but that doesn't seem to be stopping people from getting it.

Ado, hurricanes are the main culprit in high prices.  But what happened in addition to that is corruption.  The last hurricane, corrupt lawyers and roofers decided to make billions of dollars in claims for leaking roofs, claiming it was hurricane damage.  They went home to home looking for leaks and saying they could get a new roof paid for by the insurance companies.  This caused many insurance companies to go bankrupt or be forced into liquidation (like my company) and has caused rates to skyrocket in recent years.  Meanwhile lawyers have pockets billions.  Don't get me started.  My homeowners went up $900 before the liquidation.  I hope I get some of that money back.

In the meantime I filled out an online application and signed documents online, so fingers crossed it's accepted.

Woke up in time to get down to the den to turn the TV for the early baseball game today. Still feeling foggy-brained; I had stayed up QUITE late reading. Can't seem to help myself. I start out looking at the clock and vowing to myself that I will stop reading at 1 AM, then at 1:30 AM. Pretty soon it was 2:40 AM. Whaddya gonna do? I AM a 'print junkie' as my BiL calls all of us in my family. I get lost in whatever I'm reading, to the point of losing CHUNKS of time.

Tweety, Happy your house got the big OKAY. // Even hubby said he 'probably' didn't eat enough vegetables and fiber. I suggested he eat some kind of breakfast, even a small one. We have oatmeal, very high fiber bread, and I got him some yogurts, and other things in small portions (fruits) that he could eat (if he would) throughout the day, since he doesn't eat 3 meals a day. He won't snack on veggies, even w/ ranch dsg to entice his tastebuds. He does snack on a cookie or two at intervals. I don't know how he keeps his blood sugar readings from soaring; at it's 'worst' it might be about 135. I can make comments and suggestions, but he may or may not take them to heart. But, I refuse to be the Diabetes Police. I could be irritated all day long if I was of a mind to nag. // I still say he needs that colonoscopy and endoscopy...it has been over 10 years since he had the colonoscopy and they removed something like 28 polyps at that time. ?

Joe, once again I am "off" about what the day of the week is...it feels like Saturday to me! So, you haven't gone OR come back yet! Good thing I'm not a travel agent! So, hope your trip this coming weekend goes well!

dianah, Hope you and hubby get better ASAP! Having a cold is SO annoying!

Ado, Yeah, that's all any of us need, a rep with a secret agenda who talks about others behind their backs. Ppfftt to her!

The (L) knee is achey, but not as bad as it was ...Because I got up so late, I didn't get my meds taken early; hoping they will kick in shortly.

It is 90 degrees HOT, but tomorrow promises to be worse, and hotter still on Friday. Feels like August. Harumph!  Staying in feels like just another bunch of days in quarantine. But, who wants to be out in the NOT-so-fresh, oppressive air? Ain't no sea-breezes happening here, dammit, just some intermittent hot winds, which aren't terribly refreshing!

Saw a mockingbird chasing a robin all around the yard yesterday. Never have see anything like that. Wonder why it was going on? I don't think the robin was anywhere near the mockingbird's nest. One of nature's mysteries, I guess.

Well, for a change today, Nannie said, "That sun sure looks pretty out there." But she was surprised when I told her the outside temp: "REALLY?" She, of course, is sitting in her recliner with the space heater blowing on her, wrapped up in her fluffy pink wrap which hubby often refers to (jokingly) as "that heavy ol' dog-bed you wear all the time." I think the AC is set on 66 degrees. Even I have to wear a light vest (not a dog-bed!!) to keep the cold air from blowing on my ribs, chest, shoulders, and neck.

Well, at least today's baseball game is not as slow and draggy as was yesterday's and the day before. The score of the first game (of three games) was Milwaukee 1 and Atlanta 0; the second game was Atlanta 1 and Milwaukee 0. Too much of a Pitcher's Game can be boring. At least there is activity in the field today: top of the fifth inning and the score is Atlanta 4, and Milwaukee 2. Nannie keeps saying that she can't understand the announcer who is Australian, that he talks too fast. Oh well!  // Speaking of baseball, did ya hear that The Red Sox, yesterday,  had FOUR home-runs in ONE inning!

Have to stop now and sit on my cold fingers for a while!

I was reading ER rep as emergency room rep, but now I realize it must be employee resources rep? Anyway, that is such a lack of self awareness. It seems like any kind of patience and kindness has just gone out the window anymore. Good for you, Ado, for getting your work turned in on time, anyway.

Good grief Stars, when I had 4 polyps taken out I had to return in 5 years. I've had to experiment with trying to find snacks that weren't all processed food. I try not to even bring cookies in the house, they are so tempting! I am always trying to have more fiber at least available.

Tweety, I'm glad your inspection went well. Insurance seems like such a racket. A nice, air-conditioned museum sounds pleasant.

Joe, I think I sometimes spend more time worrying about packing, that the actual pack. I've been planning what to pack for my upcoming trip (if I don't get covid, that is ?). Hot weather clothes, plus inside, air-conditioning clothes. And workout clothes for the fitness center.

Ugh, Dianah, dual colds. I hope you have plenty of those lotion-y tissues.

I did an online meeting this morning, and then went into the office for about an hour. Last night supervisor said I should stay out 5 days, then this morning she said because I'm vaxed and boosted, I could work in a mask. I could only stand wearing an N95 for about an hour and got a headache, so I left, after tying up loose ends for the coming week. I also picked up a few more covid tests on the way out. And I got scheduled for my cardio-version the week after I get back. I ain't got time for no stinkin' COVID!

Anyhow, I think I will do an online grocery order and let ds pick it up. They bring it out to the car, so just in case he has it, he won't expose anyone.

My apologies. I did mean HR rep. But my finger found ER. I will just consider myself lucky that I didn't strain anything rolling my eyes so hard at her "accountability" and move on. Last choir practice of the season this evening.
