Nannie just got up on her own; Time to get her dressed WITH her pull-ups and TWO pads. I used to keep the packages of them discreetly tucked between the toilet and the sink/cabinet, which are on her right when she sits. But I have decided to move the decorative basket she has in the corner between the wall and the tub, and place the products there so they will be right in front of her as she sits on the toilet. The hope is that she will see them and it might occur to her to PUT THEM ON!
Got the laundry started, fed the birds, washed the dishes. Nannie is almost asleep again. Hubby is upstairs resting on his bed.
Later:
Okay, so, hubby came into my room and woke me up at 10 AM. He said no, he didn't need to take his pills (Ativan). He told me he called and cancelled his Dr's appt (why is nobody surprised?!) and re-scheduled it for the 13th. Don't know what hell that appt will be for, though.....Maybe a follow-up for repetition of noncompliance? Certainly not another round of some kind of detox med! He is still c/o of not being able to sleep well. BUT, his left arm edema has really gone down a good bit, so that's something, anyway! At least he is taking his Lasix; well I hope he is! He said he still intends to keep the amount of vodka he drinks like he has been, and not get smashed. Hmmm. We'll see about that, too,
I need to treat myself by taking myself to a ( REAL, not from a chain restaurant) nice Mexican meal. You guys talking about Mexican food are always making my mouth water.
Once I put the laundry in the dryer, I wonder if I will actually go up to my room as I intend to do, and fold, hang and put away the clean clothes that have been stacked up since the last time I did my laundry. I wish I had a bureau (dresser) in my room, but there is NO ROOM in my room for that piece of furniture! Anyway, I know how good I am at putting things off and ignoring my own needs, which is why I wonder if I'll do it today. Only been meaning to do it for AT LEAST a week!
Sunny, warmish, cool breezes.
Looking at Respite care for Nannie; residential would average around $4,500 to $5,375 PER MONTH and there would be extra fees for med dispensing, etc.
This ^ investigation done at hubby's request; I read about several places to him, and now he is laying back in the recliner with his eyes closed. Don't some folks have it dead easy?
Adventures of The Plumber's Daughter:
Nannie was SOOOOO blocked up with an enormous ball of BM...but, you can't dis-impact her (she can't even tolerate an enema tip in there!). Anyway, it took about 3/4's of an hour to "convince it" to come out. What a FUN day we are having!
Now I get to run out and get hubby's supper suggestion of a Bo-Box from Bojangles. Wheeeee!
Joe, hope you've had a calmer day. Mexican food sounds so good.
dianah, sorry you didn't get to do your trip. Your non-alcohol, low-sugar beverage sounds tasty and refreshing.
J22 -- pretty snow picture!
Tweety, good luck to the bowling team. That's some pretty stiff competition!
Stars, your dh really has some resistance to doing things the doctor's way, doesn't he?
Did I tell y'all about the "biggest loser" competition at work? Maybe I did. Anyway, it seems all I can think about is food. So when I say the Mexican food and the non-alcoholic drink sound good, know that I am nearly drooling. I broke down today and bought a box of Girl Scout cookies (thin mints) from one of our nurses. And ate 6 of them. ?
Increasing my activity has left me with a sore lower back. Maybe yoga would be good but seems like an expensive option. Stepson used to talk about doing hot yoga. Gotta admit, that sounds unpleasant to me. And with his asthma, I would have thought that hot, humid air would be pretty uncomfortable for him, too. On the other hand, he used to dive and indoor swimming pools have lots of hot, humid air, too.
To add to my diet noncompliance, it is Wednesday, choir practice night, so we will have pizza for dinner. My plan is to have one slice, and even with the cookies, I am still within my calorie goal for the day. Two slices would not be.
Crap! Phooey! Rats!
NOW hubby is c/o blurring in his left eye. A few hours ago he was c/o his eyeglasses and said he had to go to the guy tomorrow to see what can be fixed (glasses-wise, that is). Suddenly in my head I thought OMG in one eye? I can NOT find either of my two BP cuffs. His pulse is 104 and his 02 sat was 81! I told him to put on the 02, and also check his blood sugar. He isn't have any signs of stroke that I can discern, ie nothing on his face is drooping, and his grip is good in both hands, and he can stick his tongue out without deviation from center. But I AM NERVOUS. He will NOT go to the ER. And where the h___ are my BP cuffs?????
Hi. Well, thin mints can't be all bad, if thin is in the name, right?
Half day at work today. I went to a dermatologist in the morning to look at the bumps on my face that seem to be growing. He determined them to be milia. So I had him express the biggest ones and will start using RetinA to try to prevent them. I didn't have much acne as a kid, so now I get to deal with it. Then I got a tattoo.
No surprise with Mr. Stars. I bet he's breathing better after lasix.
Snow is mostly gone. And I'm glad. I am so ready for Spring.
No Stars, did you find your BP cuff? Has anything changed with Mr. Stars? Yes it is concerning to have issues with only one eye.
Hello to all. It has rained, on and off, most of today. Clouds seem to be clearing though it is quite cold (44) and blustery out. We have stayed cozy and warm inside. We participated in the online jam session. Dh is taking little doggy out for a walk, and he will get the mail.
Had to do an amended tax return, as AFTER we'd completed the tax return and filed, I received another W2 through the mail! I THOUGHT I'd received everything, which is why I'd scheduled to get our taxes done! Oh well. We kinda broke even, which is OK. Next year will be different, as I won't have any "work" to add to the yearly income.
Kinda miss being at the festival, but we are glad we are home and warm, and that dh's back is feeling better.
Have a good evening!
So I checked my email tonight and had something from the local library. They've got easy yoga on Thursdays from 1-2. Free! I'm hoping to give it a try tomorrow, will mean a long lunch.
Last night I got out the vanilla beans I bought a while back and they were dried out. I tried dehydrating them in hot water as I read online I could do. Then tried making some vanilla extract and amaretto liqueur. We shall see if it works out OK.
No Stars In My Eyes said:Oh, j22, I love your tattoo; such a sweet facial expression on that dog! I said, "Awwwwwwwwww" when I saw it. Good choice. Very nice. And it would appear the dog is a real "LAP-DOG?"
Sometimes he snuggles in my lap, but at 25 pounds he's a little big. He really likes to sleep in the recliner with dh, between his legs. I think their snores harmonize rather nicely.
G'day!
It's 10:00 and I'm having dinner and heading to bed. I had a patient that had an MI. They made me go to Cath lab with him, in another building, but only to answer questions then I could leave. Then they promptly gave me not one but two admissions for a total of three for the day.
Why I wasted my life in med surg I'll never figure out.

Tweety I hope you can find the burial location. It's understandable that these feelings will arise, and often we have unfinished business with the deceased that can persist long
Dianah they have a bunch of things I like on their menu, normally I get a enchilada or a quesadilla. Too bad you had to cancel your trip
Stars I can definitely understand feeling down. That would be ideal, if he could go to rehab and she to an NH.
NJ22 I don't think we've had snow here for quite a while
Hi Ado
Work started OK but ended up a bit crazy. Did not have time to help anyone today. Hoping the rest of the week will be calmer
After work went to the Mexican place with the church group, this time we only had 5 people show. The food was good but the place was a bit crowded and noisy
Today have the yoga class after work, then will do the grocery shopping.
Will be warm today, in the low 50s
