G'day.
Joe, hope you ease on into the work week.
I went to the gym early this morning to get it out of the way, so I won't talk myself out of it. Made some tofu noodle soup that's good, made lunches as well. I should be set as I have some lentils still left to eat. Just need to mop and the chores for the day will be done and I can relax some.
I've been a bit off this week and hard on myself. Bleh......
Have a great day!
Hello all!
Welcome back, Joe! Yes, ppl do like to connect via talking. Hope you got rested up last night, and I hope your week isn't too crazy, with the co-worker gone.
Tweety, good on ya, going to the gym first thing! Tofu noodle soup sounds GOOD!
Not much going on here, due to the heat. Dh says he is doing an "update download" for his system. 😲😲 Tomorrow we will likely go for a drive up into the mountains, where temperatures are lower and we can get out and walk a little.
Have a good day and evening!
My Horror-scope sez: "You need to slow down. You may find yourself getting exasperated, but you just need a break. Find yourself a quiet spot and just breathe." Gee whiz, how'd they know that?! 🤣
Momo is climbing all over me because there is a FLY in the room! I saw it a moment ago, but don't know where it flew off to. When I see a fly I always say to it, "Pick a place to die!" So far, it has not. The dog is squashed down between me and the arm of the love-seat sofa, and I have draped one of her baby blankets over her so she can see, but the fly can't land on her.
SiL came over at 11 AM, to get Nannie dressed and take her to the hand doctor, and BiL was supposed to meet them there and bring Nannie back home, so SiL could go to work.....BUT, SiL just brought her back; she said that the ABC store clerk said, 'the truck doesn't come in until tomorrow.' She's po'd because 'the back room (at ABC) is a mess and there are boxes everwhere, so I'll have to pick it all up before we do inventory and restock the shelves, tomorrow.' [I did not say, but thought, 'I'll trade places with ya....']
Earlier I got the clean, dry clothes that were folded and left in the laundry basket for a week to get good and wrinkled....I put them in the dryer with a wet towel to de-wrinkle them. THEN I can finish hanging them up. I cleared off the desk and tossed some things in a box to file later, and still have to sort two containers to recycle some of the paper and separate the rest to be shredded. And I made up my bed. Then I came down to the den to relax with some coffee and my laptop, but discovered that Nannie's bed was soaked AGAIN, so that stuff is in the wash (AGAIN!) .....do I sound exasperated? Because, yes I am. I need to get a rubberized cloth half-sheet to put in the area where she pees and lets it soak in, and cover that with a half sheet and chux. But, if she continues to make her bed and then sit or lay back down on top of it, the sheets and covers will STILL get soaked. But maybe sometimes I will only have to change the half-sheet, maybe, I hope, maybe 🤨
I do have to change the waste-baskets sometimes TWICE a day now instead of every other day. Used Chux take up a lot of space even if you carefully roll or fold them, Between Momo's peeing and Nannie's saturating things, it's a never-ending tale (tail?) of fun.
Nannie now has a removable brace on her left wrist, SiL told the doc, "You know she has a history of taking casts and braces off..." and was told, "Well, if she does, she does." That's what happened when she broke her right wrist 5-6 years ago, and why that wrist has a permanent dog-leg bend to it.
After Nannie asked me 3-4 times about her shoes and her pants, and I told her 2-3 times that SiL got her up and dressed her; fortunately Nannie said "Oh. okay." And NOW she is dozing. 😴 Keep going Nannie, off to the Land of Nod!
I think I just killed the fly....it landed on the edge of the foot stool, and instead of taking careful aim, I just whacked with the fly swatter....and I haven't seen it since. I will check the floor below the foot-stool when I get up in a few minutes. The dryer will soon be through "ironing" my blouses and shirts so I can hang them up in the closet,
Oh! We are getting thunder! But there is also still a lot of blue sky and sun, so I don't know if it's coming this way or not. It doesn't matter....I don't have to go out anywhere.
No Stars, your fly search-and-swat reminded me of the Brothers Grimm's tale, The Brave Little Tailor, or, Seven At One Stroke. 😄😄 Good for you, protecting Momo! Sorry the wet sheets are (seemingly) never-ending. Anything you can devise that will decrease the laundry loads, is probably well thought out!
I spent the afternoon (in 103 degrees) doing errands: to a store to sample perfumes (they are all TOO STRONG!!), then to shoe store (they didn't have what dh wanted, but I got another pair of walking shoes for me -- on sale!), then to the burrito place (for dh's supply that he eats for lunches), then to the grocery store for a few items, then to the HFS for some vitamins/supplements. Then HOME!! I will soon change from 'going-out clothes' to 'home clothes,' and I hope to have supper soon, and then read some. Tonight I need to clean cat boxes, too.
Have a good evening!
Oh, wet sheets, laundry, and cat boxes! Ain't we got fun?😅
So Hubs decided I needed a "new" phone (it's refurbished, but new to me) and now I have to re-establish all my connections (userid, password, etc.) Then I will organize all the little icons so I know how to find what I want. I was unable to figure out how to regain my mobile soft token for accessing NHSN so will probably have to call their help desk tomorrow. I know he meant well and I'll probably be happy with it but this sure is a lot of work!
Gma is fighting Hubs as he tries to get her ready for bed. *sigh*
The game I spend way too much time with will make me start over from the beginning. I did that once and choose not to do it again. It will be good for me to quit that anyway.

Tweety I hope they heed your advice
Sounds like a productive day Stars
Congratulations Ado
NJ22 sounds like a nice day
Monday night family ordered pizza and ate outside. Talked for like 4 or 5 hours. In the morning I did my packing and went into town for breakfast, then came back to the inn to say goodbye to everyone and headed out. Drive back was a little quicker than the drive there, although I did run into some traffic jams in Indianapolis and NW Indiana. Picked up groceries, stopped at the library, and unpacked. Was pretty tired
Have to say this reunion was a bit meh, which may be why it feels good to get back. I think it's the sheer number of hours our family spends time sitting around talking, the first day it's OK but by the 2nd it starts to wear on me. We don't tend to do a lot of activities together, except eat together. Something to think about for the next reunion
Today getting an early start at work, mostly to go through all of the emails I've likely received. We have a coworker out all this week which will complicate things. Will be glad when this week is over, no one on our team has any significant vacation plans after this
Will be a cooler day today, in the mid 70s. Think the rain will hold off
