Tweety glad the symptoms are mild

NJ22 it's good you're keeping tabs on your sister's treatment

Stars I'm glad he finally got the ultrasound

Ado I hope your trip goes well

Dianah that sounds good

Work was OK yesterday, stuff came up late in the day that I had to deal with and stay a bit late for, but otherwise OK.  Thinking today will be quieter despite a meeting

Decided to skip dining out with the church group,  given how my stomach was feeling.   Got a new coffee maker, stopped and the library,  and  just to be safe picked up a Covid test (it was normal)

Feeling better this morning.  Am reflecting on the previous 2 days, wondering if this was a temporary thing or perhaps a sign that I may need to change something

Grocery shopping tonight.  Thinking of switching to cereal from oatmeal, to save time in the morning

Will be a little warmer today, in the low 80s

Oh-ho-ho-yikes!

Be careful what you complain about! Hubby woke me up at 10:30 AM and said that his dgt and youngest granddgt called 2 hours prior, and they are coming over. Which means they will be here in an hour or so, maybe less. I shouldn't worry about this, but the house is a mess, I mean really a mess. Which means that I will be blamed for that. It irritates me because of the dgt's judgmental attitude about everything, self-righteous and superior, and ANNOYING.

Actually, I shouldn't care, but what I don't like is having this sprung on me with minutes to spare. UGH. Well, doors are made to shut/close, and that's how a lot of them will be today! And if she wants to c/o the floors needing vac-ing or washing (kitchen floor), she can just grab a mop and start helping out.

Welp, I better finish getting dressed, at least. I'm sure I'll be back later with a 'Report of the Day'. Oh goody, something to look forward to!

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day and that your stomach settles down.

J22, hope your sister improves.  Good thing you're looking after her.  Very interesting about the bladder cancer treatment.

Stars, hope that the visit is uneventful without family drama.

I'm lucky to keep a cushion in my checking account and don't worry about balancing it as the computer does it for me and pretty much posts immediately when I buy something.  Technology is crazy.  Once when I first got Google Pay on my phone, I used my phone to pay groceries and while I was walking to the car checked my checking account and it was already removed.

Day three of covid and I've deteriorated some.  Temp max of 102.6 at 3AM and I couldn't sleep despite being exhausted.  Eventually I got up, had coffee and breakfast and went back to bed.  Feeling okay now.  Guess it's just going to have to run it's course.

The 'company' arrived when I was out at the pharmacy and grocery store. (I confess to dawdling behind the grocery cart) They'd brought Nannie lunch, a fried chicken sandwich and waffle fries. I got home after they'd been here a little while, long enough for Nannie to eat half her sandwich and tell us to put the rest of it in a baggie in the fridge.

I was wrong about the youngest grand; she is 17! Her sister is 22 now. Hard to keep up when you never see them. Hubby talks on the phone with each of them a few times a week. Step-dgt was mostly focused on her Nannie. She wasn't acting snooty, but had little to say to me. She and her daddy went out to sit on the porch for a little while, so I don't know what they talked about. Nannie sat in her recliner and tried to tell granddgt and me...about SOMEthing (?), or a bunch of somethings. Her brain is getting very gommed up . She said she got the pants she was wearing today, from Shriner's hospital. Only about 80 years or more since she was there as a kid.

Anyway, they left around 3 PM, so they were here for maybe two hours, altogether.

Everybody let out your held breath: WOOOOOSHHHH! It's over. Hallelujah.

Hubby just went to get his replacement eye-glasses frames (the ones he fell on the other day were under warranty, thank goodness). Two days ago they told him the frames wouldn't be here for three weeks! My gracious, this has been the fastest three weeks we've ever lived through!

So Nannie is getting to watch the last of the Braves game, which started around 1 PM. It's in the top of the 9th and we are at bat, but don't expect anything miraculous, as we have one out and no one on base, and the other team is ahead by 5 runs. Maybe they will run a replay of the game on another channel before she goes to bed. Who cares!

We lost. Nannie thinks the game is about to start. Uh-uh. But, It is the "Post-game Show"....Tell her that and she returns a blank stare indicating that she doesn't understand. Oh Well! She'll forget all of it soon enough (I hope!). And there is another game on tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Tweety, hope your fever goes down and stays there.

Stars, I'm glad the visit was quick and relatively painless. If they have an issue with housekeeping, then they should feel free to hire someone. After all, you and you are a senior, with chronic health issues and can't be expected to be the full time maid on top of doing pharmacy runs, laundry and nanny-sitting.

Tweety, that sucks that you are having a relapse. I think I talked very nice, OCD co-worker into called her provider to get paxlovid. She's having fevers and bad headaches.

Ado, that is a long travel. I know from experience that flying cross-country can be so tiring, and connections don't always work out. Hopefully, this is a useful trip for your work.

Joe, I hope this is a good day for you. I enjoy oatmeal, but I usually have it for lunch at home. My go to breakfast is mult-grain toast with avocado and alfalfa sprouts. It's quick, easy and filling. But today I had peanut butter, cuz I was too lazy to cut an avocado in half.

It's another hot day, high 80s and humid. I just got back from a walk. I did reconnaissance on a place to take the crazy one out on her last day of work. And I stopped at the drug store that just reopened, for some eye lid cleanser that only they seem to have. I ordered some from Amazon, but no telling when it will come. Our little post office is swamped with Amazon packages. There was a photo on facebook showing the parking lot full of pallets of stuff. Sis finally got word about stopping 1 med and reducing dose of another. And another draw in the morning.

Hello all!

Tweety, I'm sure with that fever, you feel kinda miserable and blah.  Don't wanna do anything.  Hurts to watch TV, hurts to read.  Hope you feel better soon.

No Stars, good the family visit was relatively painless for you.

I walked last night with my friend S.  She chose a nice neighborhood between our two houses.  Some hills, but mostly flat, around lovely homes.  It was nice to catch up with the goings-on between us.  I mentioned I'd baked the lemon custard dessert, and the zucchini quiche.  After we walked, I emailed her the lemon recipe.  She asked, "was it lemony enough?"  I didn't know what to tell her (I thought it was, but perhaps her tastes are different).  So I got dressed this morning and drove over to her place, to deliver a taste of each: the lemon custard dessert and the zucchini quiche.  She liked 'em both!  And, we had another nice visit.

When I got home, I baked a zucchini/banana cake while dh did his jamkazam session.  Once the cakes cool off, I will make the cream cheese frosting for them.   And then I'll email S the recipes.

I also got ingredients to make a Southern Onion Pie, using sweet onions.  May make that tomorrow or Friday.

So, not much else planned for today.  Yesterday I got in 7000 steps, 2.59 miles, in 1 1/4 hr of walking.  So, that's good.  I may use the elliptical in the house tonight, rather than going out in the heat to walk.  It will still be 82 degrees at 8pm (per Weather Channel).  I was sure sweaty during last night's walk!  I know, I know: TMI!!

Have a good evening!

Yes, traveling is exhausting.  These days with canceled flights and lost luggage travel is a mess.  But safe travels Ado.

Dianah, I love lemon custard.  It was my favorite as a kid.

I texted my doctor that I was sick and asked about Paxlovid since I was getting some conflicting advice.  He said he would send a script if I wanted but it's not likely to be affective 3 days in.  I won't bother. I'm low risk for severe illness with my general good health and this variant being less harmful.

dianah, You mean to tell us you actually SWEAT? Eeuuww! ?

j22, Too lazy to cut an avocado in half? You are truly pitiful! ?

Joe, My favorite cereal is Multi-Grain Cheerios! But I'd rather have a bowl of cereal at night than in the morning. My stomach isn't awake enough in the morning for cold milk and crunchy O's. Just give me a cup of coffee. I don't get hungry until around 3 PM, anyway.

By the way, hubby said his dgt asked him if he wanted her to do some cleaning while she was here. He told her no. TSK!

Okay, the second viewing of the same ballgame from this afternoon is over. I left it on to keep Nannie quiet, and blocked my mind with other things. There wasn't anything on worth watching anyway. Now Nannie is stalling going to bed and hubby is jollying her along. She said "If I go in that room there, can I get in bed and go to sleep?" (That's what we are trying to get you to do!)

I'm going upstairs to start reading the fourth book from the pile of books dianah sent to me. Haven't decided which one yet.

~~~~~~Will talk w/ you'n's tomorrow!~~~~~~
