Ado that's understandable caregiving can be very stressful

Tweety I don't think I could do that either

Stars it's understandable that you'd need some time alone to relax

Hi NJ22 and Dianah

Another pretty good day at work.  After work exercises and participated in a Zoom call about volunteering.  Thinking of doing that again, with some local organizations

Woke up early, fell back to sleep, and had some fairly vivid dreams about having  moved somewhere, kind of like a dorm.  Have that  particular dream every now  and  then

Today have grocery shopping after work.  Otherwise nothing going on

Going to be a bit cooler today, in the lower  80s

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Last time I was in a library was pre-covid to visit a photo exhibit of one of best friend's neighbors.  It was small about ten photos.  But I was impressed with the library and how busy it was.  The children's section was crowded, and of course snow birds rummaging about.  Glad to see libraries are still popular.   I do have a problem with millennials wanting to ban books they don't want.  Don't let your children read what you don't want, but allow other parents choice.  I didn't read much as a kid.  Only as a teen and adult.  Best friend was one of those kids that checked out a bunch of books and excitedly brought them home as a kid.  He reads a lot now.

Yesterday I went to three stores throughout the stay.  Made a trip to Trader Joes because I was close by, and then to my usual health food store.  Later I made a spontaneous visit to the Asian market after yoga.

My other accomplishment was signing up for a free year of Apple TV+ through my phone plan and setting up my TV.  My TV is a smart TV and I watch Amazon Prime and Netflix on it, but Apple TV is newer and not compatible.  So I got a ROKU "streaming stick"(?) and was able to get it up and running.  I can now watch CODA and a couple of other things only available on Apple.  I am annoyed that because my phone and tablet aren't Apple products, it's not compatible.  I watch a lot of shows on my tablet while I cook.

Woke up at 0500 and have mopped, cleaned the bathrooms and two loads of laundry already.  Lately I can't sleep for long and get up too early.  Will try to stay up so I can sleep tonight for work tomorrow.

Have a great day.

Just thought of something I haven't made in awhile.  What I call Buffalo Dip. ?  It's not real healthy, as the base is sour cream.  I suppose one could make it with greek yogurt, instead.  Anyway, add to a pint of sour cream, almost one package of HIdden Valley Ranch DIp.  Then add (to your taste) Red Hot Sauce (I use Frank's) and Apple Cider Vinegar.  Start with a tsp of each, then taste and adjust to your tastes.  The hot sauce adds tang, and the vinegar adds a different tang!  Good with potato chips, or with anything you like dipped in.  I named it Buffalo Dip because it tastes like buffalo wings spice!

Slept pretty well last night.  Today I need to make soy sausage cabbage stew -- at dh's request, I might add!  He loved it so much after I made it while we were camping, that he requested it again. ?

Other than that, not much planned for today.

Have a good day!

Hello Joe, Tweety, and dianah! Hello to all you others yet to post, and yeh, hello to those who just read here.

It is a stinkin' hot, humid day, but no Summer afternoon storms have been predicted so far. Mother Nature has a mind of her own, and likes to laugh at the meteorologists here, so I wouldn't be surprised with a pop-up storm. "They" say that it is difficult to forecast here in the 'flatlands', but the same is said up in the mountains.

Amazing, the difference in my hubby when he's on a sober-streak! He has been listening to NPR a lot lately, and it is possible to have a good conversation with him about news (robo-nurses), politics and the state of various spots in the world. He came in from his 'office' (the Ford) and told me all about the trouble in Sri Lanka, and wasn't referring to peoples the way, well, the way rednecks around here do, so very  offensively.

Living amongst the rednecks and the rigorously religious fundamentalists (who sometimes are one and the same.) can be quite a S-M-H experience.

Slept well last night and woke up around 10:30 AM to tote Nannie's breakfast to her. She is SOUND asleep right now, and stayed asleep the whole time hubby and I were talking. Usually she wants to hear if there is any good gossip going on, but today she didn't even budge.....eyes closed and mouth hanging open the whole time.

Hubby will be bringing her her favorite Subway sandwich for lunch, and the game will start shortly, so she will be awake when he gets back and the TV is turned on. Hope her brain can stay on an even keel today, but ya jus' nevah know!

Later, y'all!

What causes that huge blank space after my post? Just curious.

AUGH! Yesterday's newspaper lied to me about the time the ballgame was to start today. THEY said 1:30 PM, which means that the first pitch starts 45 minutes after the pregame show. Turned on the TV for the 1st pitch, and YIKES!, we are in the bottom of the 5th inning, and on top of that, the Mets are ahead of the Braves, 4-0. HARRUMPH!

Braves lost 7-3. Nannie fell asleep around the 2nd half of the 7th inning.

I renewed my driver's license on line. It was surprisingly easy. Have to use the old photo, but decided I don't care enough about that to drive to the DMV and stand in line.

BTW: Y'know I mentioned no storms predicted for today? We are currently having thunder and lightning, and I THINK it is going to rain. (But don't tell Mother Nature I said that.)

Hi. Just got back from a wild goose chase. Our county car that we use for home visits was in the shop with a dead battery, and it is up to us to retrieve once it is repaired. So newer co-worker and I drove the 10 miles out to the shop to pick it up. But once we got there, we found out it was dropped off at our office lot last week. No one is admitting to know it came back, and once it is lined up with its litter mates, they all look the same. Luckily, the weather was nice for a drive in the country.

I watched a webinar on Medicare, so I can get dh set up when he retires next month. Next step is to make an appointment to meet with an agent and review plans.

Dd has apple TV, and I think that is their only TV service. We have regular cable for the sports, PBS, and Netflix. I am off tomorrow through next Tuesday. No plans except 2 Dr. appointments, which seems to be my main social activity lately. don't I know how to have fun!

YOWIE-ZOWIE are we ever having a VIGOROUS, LOUD thunderstorm! Lots of lightning, rain is pelting hellbent down sorta sideways. It is right overhead!

Nannie asks, "When is this storm supposed to end?"

(I should know this?)

Hey all!

Stars, I'm sure it's nice to be able to have a nice, normal conversation. Hope it continues!

I snapped at Twin B this evening then felt bad about it. His efforts at making conversation often start with something he has read online that angered him. I share some but not all of his political leanings but don't let other peoples' wrong-headedness spoil my day too often. He points out that he's at least trying to make conversation and connect with us. And he's right. I'll try not to be so crotchety.

Listen, I would CRINGE if y'all knew some of the opinions hubby spouts. I will not debate with him about so many things, because it just isn't worth it. He knows how I feel about stuff, I don't mind telling him, but he also knows I have a mind of my own and won't be swayed into debating. I will SMH or shrug and say, "....Oh Well !...". And no way can I ever argue him out of the way he feels about the Medical Community/Doctors/Health, or Politics. We grew up in such different places and in different ways, it's a thousand wonders we have been together for so long.

This post was written and re-written so many times, and I got so tangled up in what I was trying to say, but not getting it said to my own satisfaction, and decided it isn't worth trying to explain, so hence, I have erased it!
