Another quiet day at work, though wasn't too busy as there was a coworker I was helping.  But don't always get that chance.  Hope things pick up soon

Rest of the day was pretty quiet, just grocery shopping and exercise

Today going to take the car into the new mechanic's, so I'll start a bit later at work than usual.  Just an oil change so I should be able to pick it up by lunch

When the cat sees the vet in about 2 weeks going to ask for a PRN anti nausea med.  She seems to currently caught in a daily cycle of vomiting, probably triggered by a large hairball a week ago. I think when that happens if I can interrupt the cycle it should stop

Going to get up to about 20 today, single digits currently.  A fairly short walk to the new mechanic's but I will have to dress warmly

Welp, here it is about 8:45 AM and I have been up for an hour and a half. I am feeling somewhat stunned from being awake so early! I had to set my alarm clock to get Nannie up and ready for her day at the Sr. Daycare Ctr. Dressed her warm as it is only around 30 degrees outside. I think it is supposed to get up to around 40 degrees today.

BiL just came and picked her up, and I will go get her at 4:30 PM.

May or may not go upstairs and crawl under the covers again. 😴 ....But, on the other hand, I could DO something, but it's hard to get my gumpties up for 'attacking' anything right now, except my 2nd cup of coffee.

Had GMA on the TV; I used to watch it all the time, but I dunno, it's not the same. I sure won't get up especially to watch it now! And Mark and Kelly's show just started. Do you know, everyone on TV this morning is looking older? It is because I haven;t seen any of them in over at least 20 years! What a shocker! Time changes things!

I am going to stop here and hope I figure out what is going to go on during the rest of the day.  Have a good'n, y'all!

NSIME my spouse, NEB wakes up every morning before 4 am. She cleans the bathroom or dusts or folds laundry or writes letters during that quiet awake time.  Sometimes she blue tooths the TV to her headphones and listens to a program. Mostly she listens to music although she's not always quiet when she does that.  I definitely know if Ozzy hits her play list early in the morning.  It's hard to be quiet when Crazy Train is in your ear.

Joe, I hope work is OK today.  Stay warm on your walk to the mechanic's!  How far away is it?

Gosh, NSIME, you ARE up early (for you)!!  Good Nannie is at day care today! 

I slept till 3, then was awake till after 0630, then slept till 11!!  Ugh!  It kinda compresses the day...  Yesterday I made a sweet potato/lentil stew, and, surprisingly! -- we liked it so much I need to make it again!  Only I will use yams instead of sweet potatoes, to see how it does (though dh says not to change a thing, he liked it as it was).  Some is in the freezer.  The recipe calls for sauteeing onion and garlic and fresh grated ginger in coconut oil, then adding the broth, lentils, and sweet potato and cooking it all, then adding coconut milk and chopped kale.  It's not our usual fare, but is now added to our list of faves!

The winds have been OK the last couple days, though they have kicked up today, especially (per dh) in the mountains.  I hope they are not bad at the fire lines, which are probably ~30% contained now.  I refer to the Eaton Canyon and Palisades fires.  I pray NO new fires start up!

Hi. Pleasant day here. While dh was doing his Food Bank duties, I went over to the demo garden and did some clean-up. I talked to a couple of nice park visitors who had questions about the roses I was tending to. A hummingbird buzzed by at one point. I then frittered away some time watching confirmation hearings. There are roofers replacing a roof on a house behind ours and the dogs are very interested. We had a frost overnight but I think the temp got up to 50! 

I like to get up early and sip my coffee while looking at the news on my computer, and then I do a couple of word games, then go for a walk. I used to hate mornings, but now I like the peacefulness. 

Joe, this slow time at work seems unusual. You were sooo busy before the holidays, if I recall. Poor kitty. Sigh, my car is due for an oil change, if I ever get it back. I rather like walking in the cold, as long as the wind is tolerable. 

There aren't many stuccoed houses around here, mostly wood or vinyl siding. When we lived in Idaho, most buildings were brick. A regional thing, I guess. 

Dianah, that soup sounds good. Maybe I'll that tomorrow. 

dh has taken a liking to daytime TV. Mostly the View and the 11 am local news. I would have never guessed that before he retired. 

Hi Annie. That is tragic about your spilled soup, and on your nice coat. I hope you didn't get too much icy weather.
