Hi Tweety

Stars I can definitely see needing some time away, I could use some too

Ado I usually don't remember my dreams, but  I find nightmares very rare

NJ22 that would annoy me too

Dianah that is an awfully long wait but I am glad the cat is better

Work was kind of crazy again but I did a better job at staying calm about it.  Even when they gave me a new case a half hour before the end of the day

Disappointed in the counselor, she had said she was available for online counseling starting this Tuesday at 1pm.  I told her that was fine but no response.  Waited yesterday for the link for the online meeting, nothing.  Still have not heard anything.  Oh well, will need to find a new counselor it seems

Rest of the day was fairly ordinary

Today will do the shopping after work, have to get stuff for church for coffee hour as well as the regular groceries

Going to be in the mid 40s again, unusually warm for this time of year

Good morning!

Joe, too bad your established counselor is ghosting you like that, but it is probably time to move on.

Wound up not watching the movie but spending the entire afternoon at the beach yesterday as the weather was nice.  Lots of people out but it's the height of our "season" and lots of tourists and snowbirds.  I guess the economy despite inflation is doing well here.

I couldn't sleep early this morning and got up about 4:40 for some reason.  I dusted and pottered about some.   Need to cook and mop.  Found a recipe for white bean zucchini soup I hope to try.

Found out I had $64 to spend on my Amazon account from my credit card points and used it up buying printer ink, a book and a CD.

Have a great day.

Joe, that's disappointing about the counselor not following through.  Hopefully you have a Plan B?

Tweety, spending the time at the beach -- well, that's ALWAYS worthwhile, IMO.  That soup sounds good!

My earbud isn't working, after its immersion yesterday.  Oh well.  The left one works.

Will get taxes done today, yay to be DONE with that.  I assume we will owe, as not as much is being taken out of the income, I believe.  Then later in the afternoon I will go walking with my friend S.

Have a good day!

Hi,

Joe, that bites that the counselor didn't follow through. Seems a little unprofessional. I hope you can find someone else.

A sunny, warm beach sounds really nice. I saw the Banshees of Insharin. Well acted, but a little dark for me.

I thought I had the taxes done, but tax forms keep appearing electronically and by mail. And the W2 that came for dh last week was actually for 2021. Huh? But his 2022 W2 came this morning. I am glad I hadn't filed them yet.

Work was interesting. OCD coworker was on a conference call most of the morning, so I was able to tune her out. I got to call a clinic in Mexico, so that was fun. And I tried to gather info on a possible new case , but the provider didn't send much info, and the office still hadn't faxed over a referral by the time I left at 1230. I told my supervisor that it would be best not to put another employer in the office I share with Ms. OCD but now they are thinking they will put 2 more people in. Oh my! As it is now, I have to step over stuff just to get to my desk.

Got a little run in, but I started coughing, got a headache so I did a COVID test just in case. The last batch I got from the state didn't have any swabs, which was weird. I used a Qtip, not ideal, I know. Any was it was negative and the cough and headache went away. I plan to go to bed early.

Yep, Joe, that's disappointing about the counselor.

Tweety, a day at the beach sounds great. You can watch the movie any time.

There was ice falling from the sky when I left work today. Hubs and I didn't go to choir practice. Twin B worked last night to cover for a sick colleague and will do so tonight. Then he's covering a 3-11 shift Friday and then his regular Sat and Sun night shifts. Should be a good paycheck for him!

I've had a lot of trouble concentrating at work. Today I wrote a letter to stepson's counselor. I might not even mail it but it felt good to get my truth spoken, if you will.

Made a mistake last night and answered a call to my work line. It was a patient complaint from one of our frequent ER patients. I asked if I could call her today and she said OK so I called today. Basically she's unhappy because the doctor said there wasn't anything wrong with her because "there is. I'm all bruised up". This is the kind of person that I believe has unmet needs that are not medical. But how do you tell someone that? And how can those needs be met? Years of therapy might do it. A good supportive community would help if she did not wear them out.

Follow-up:

The taxes are DONE, and while we owe a little (less than 1K!) to Feds, we will get a good refund from the State!!  I can't tell you how relieved I am to, first, have the taxes done, and second, to not have to owe thousands!!  I was prepared (mentally and with some funds) to pay.  As I told our tax prep person, when I found out the little we have to pay and the amount we will be receiving, "I feel like someone on Antiques Roadshow [which we always call Antique Roach Show ? ] who brought in Grandma's old ring she bought for a dollar, and come to find out, it is worth $500,000!!

And, our Manx cat is getting around just fine, as if nothing happened yesterday!  We decided not to give the pain meds and anti-inflammatory, unless he exhibits symptoms again.  This may have been a one-of.  Thank you for all your good thoughts for his healing.

I think, nursej22, that is why I didn't want to see Banshees, that it was reportedly dark.  Too dark for me.  I'm sure you are counting. the. days. before retirement, to be OUT of that office!  Good your Covid test was negative.

Ado, perhaps save that letter you wrote?  You may need to forward it or portions of it in the future.  Stay safe in the ice storms/cold.

S and I walked over three miles, over hilly terrain (streets).  I was huffing and puffing sometimes but kept going.  Here are a few photos I took on the walk:

Have a good evening!

Beautiful pictures Dinah.  Kudos on getting money back.

I filed my taxes electronically a week or so ago and it took all of two days for their payment to show up on my bank account.  Remember the old days when it would take weeks and maybe a month or two to get a refund, but they sure get their payments quick.  LOL.

One of my CNA coworkers with kids is getting $5000 back and I'm wondering how is that possible?  Certainly given her income she didn't pay more than that.  But I'm hearing some people use the IRS for a savings plan and get more taken out so they can get it all back later.  Makes no sense to me.

I recently saw "The Menu" which is described as "Dark Comedy" and liked it.  So I guess dark movies don't bother me.

Best friend and I are throwing around a few vacation ideas and he's being difficult.  I want to go to Patagonia, and  je said he doesn't want to go on any scenic tours like we did with Costa Rica but something with more civilization.  So I suggested Europe.   He rejected a trip to France (he didn't like the agenda)  and another Switzerland (too much scenery) that I was interested in.  He also wants to wait for a special sale because he's so frugal and claims he needs to watch his money because he might move soon.  This man is looking at $250K to $400K condos and houses that he will pay cash for but is so frugal that finding a trip with a $200 discount is important to him.  He says his financial concerns is that he'll spend a big chunk of cash before his current condo is sold.  Given the current prices he'll make a huge profit on his condo, which I'm thinking is really his motivation to move because he has a beautiful condo on the water and across the street from the beach.

No problem I guess, because I'm the one that's broke and in debt so a sale would be good.  I would like to go this upcoming Summer when other people I work with will be scheduling vacations and I want to beat them and have my time off secured.  It's fund to have something to look forward to.  Another trip will be the last of my pandemic money spent.  God knows when I could travel again.
