Good morning!

Stars, I certainly would hate to have to be so cold as to wear gloves indoors.  If I can't wear shorts, flip flops and a t-shirt indoors then I'm unhappy.  Don't know how you guys up north sit around in sweat shirts and long pants inside, never mind gloves.

We're having below average cold here and by cold I mean in the low 50's to low 60's for a high.  Usually it makes it to the upper 60's or at least 70 this time of year.

Nothing much going on today.  I rented "The Green Knight" the other day and need to finish it by 2pm today as they give you 48 hours to watch it.  It's a movie I've had in my queue since last year and am just getting around to it.

Speaking of movies, the Oscars are out, and I've seen six of the nominees either in theaters or streamed on Netflix or Amazon.  I'm a bit bummed because I want to see the movie CODA but it's only on Apple Streaming which I don't have.  I don't want to pay for another streaming service.  A movie has to have a theatrical release, so they release in a couple of theaters and then put on their streaming service.

Nothing much going on today.  Need to meal prep and then hit the gym.  Also have to dust.  Can I stand the excitement.

Tweety those seem like pretty warm temps to me, compared with what we're  having

sirI I think a lot of churches are doing Zoom instead of in person events

NJ22 glad to hear your DS got a job.   Will look at maybe using headphones of some type

Stars glad the car repair is pretty straightforward

Was busy at work yesterday, with the training running long.  Stayed a little late so today won't  be too busy.  Thinking our transition to the new system will be OK, the new software seems to make sense

Quiet rest of the day, exercised and stayed in

Today should be quieter at work as no trainings or meetings.  After work have the usual grocery shopping and choir practice

Will be a bit warmer than usual, up to almost 40, though we might get some snow

Yo!

UGH! Hubby woke me up out of a dead sleep to tell me we had to go get the car now. We didn't go yesterday afternoon, it was almost suppertime and starting to get dark. I don't think hubby likes to drive after dark, though he's never said as much.

The car cost $400-- starter, 'elbow', oil and filter change, tires rotated, and I dunno what else, besides labor costs. Anyway, like I said, it was paid for out of Nannie's checking account. Hubby said it drives beautifully; good thing for that price! I'm not sure when he is thinking of driving up to the mountains, whether he'll go sometime soon or wait until oldest grand-dgt's wedding whenever it is in March. Right now he "has to" ?  go get the Ford washed and cleaned inside and out. The only thing that mars its perfection is the dent I put in the front (R) fender where I was trying to back up between the carport and the neighbor's chain-link fence and turned the wheel a little bit too soon and dinged the fender. It's not 'bad', but oh well. Hubby said he may get a "skin" for that fender, and then it will look beddah. Yahoo-oh-boy-oh-boy.

Latest no-show on the grocery shelves is Nannie's cran-apple juice. I did find an off-brand, so that's what I got her. Not going to say anything about it unless she does.

I'm missing all of the movies up for the Oscars, as we don't have any streaming services. I wish, after the theater showing, they'd just put them on HBO or SHO like they used to, and then I could see them. Guess HBO and SHO (etc) are passe' now. I find it quite annoying that technology is telling me: "Eat my dust!"

Haven't heard from my sibs lately. One is somewhere in No. Calif., one in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and one in Southern Maine. I reckon no news is good news. Guess I should drop them a short email...

Today is sunny and in the mid-to-upper 40's. I'm waiting for when it is supposed to be sunny and in the mid-60's on Friday. Wish I felt a little more 'sunny' inside myself; still carrying around a chunk of funk in my head. BLAH!

Hi hectic morning today. I took a couple hours off to drive sis to her follow up appt. with cardiology. That seemed to take forever to get her pacer programed. And the hospital apparently put the dressing on her pacer site before the glue was dry, so when they took it off today it pulled off some tissue. So they applied steri-strips and she gets an antibiotic for a week. But she got the okay to shower.

And just before I left work last night, a patient's mom called to report their medi-set was filled wrong, and her son took a double dose. I had her send me a picture of the medi-set, and she was correct. So I am having to deal with that today. Bah. I will need to rush home tonight to pack the bag that I just picked up from dd, and then scoop up Angus and drop off with dd. We are staying in Seattle tonight and the next night.

$400 seems cheap for what you got, Stars. And now you have peace of mind if and when it needs to be driven, again. I need to get an oil change and tire rotation, too. Thanks for the reminder.

Weather is still overcast, around 50. No wind, so I'll take it. Might be sunny this weekend, but not warmer.

I've seen 1 of the nominees start to finish and parts of 2 others, didn't care for any of  them. We have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon, and HBO Max. That seems like plenty. I am going to look for some of the others maybe this weekend.

Lunch over, time to get back to work.

?I wear my sunglasses at night?

Squinting at the bright light of the screen as I wait for the atropine drops to wear off. Today was eye appointment day. Even though I'm getting older, apparently that is working well for my vision because it's getting better! Quite a relief, as I would most likely have needed to start learning Braille the way my vision had been deteriorating.

Hello!

I wrote a letter announcing my projected retirement date, and gave it to my Manager.  I have mixed feelings, feeling like I'm leaving the department in the lurch but also feeling this is the right time for me to retire.  Work was steady.

After work I gathered my papers and attended our appt with the tax lady.  Turns out we don't owe any extra and will even get some back, yay!  And I called dh after she did the taxes, so he could ask some questions.  It was a good meeting.

So, we had dinner a little later than usual but it's all OK.

Rose, good your eye appt report was encouraging!

nursej22, wow, you DID have a hectic morning!  Ugh, too bad about the pacemaker site and the glue.  They should know better.  Hope your sister didn't lose a lot of tissue.

No Stars, I agree, $400 was a good price for what you got!  What was for dinner?

Hello Joe and Tweety!

It was 78 degrees out when I got off work!  Dh got the RV out, so it's parked in front of the house.  We have probably two weeks to get it ready to go to Arizona.  I plan to take the hand-vacuum out and clean the inside a little before we pack (in two weeks).  In the meantime, it will go to get serviced, so everything is running well.  It started right up for dh, which to me was a good sign.  ?

Have a good evening!
