Tweety that does seem redundant

Stars I would be disgusted too, it must be frustrating that he remains in denial about his addiction.  I hope the appointment Friday gets him on the right path

Ado I heard about the tornadoes, glad they steered clear of you

Yesterday was busier than expected, bunch of emails and faxes coming in late.  Hoping today will be quieter

Was feeling pretty good yesterday, whatever I had Monday appears to be gone

Found out I was short some gift wrapping supplies,  so I'll get some tonight and then get on with wrapping gifts, which is something I don't care for

Finally heard back from J, he hadn't called back because  he was distracted by this  procedure he's having.  He'll update me after his appointment today,  still not sure what the procedure is

Have grocery shopping in addition to getting the gift wrapping  supplies today.  Will be rainy today and in the 40s, which will make shopping unpleasant

Good morning.

Joe, glad you are feeling better.

Today is my last day off of my extended vacation.  It's been a nice long time highlighted by the wonderful trip to Costa Rica.

Saw "The Fabelman's" at the theater yesterday with best friend.  Very good well done movie.

Saw on my units facebook page that we're having a secret Santa party so I ordered something on my phone from the bowling alley on Monday and it came yesterday.  I won't attend the pot luck which is on an off day and I don't want to come it, but at least I'll have something to put under the tree.  They also are having potluck New Years Eve.  It's annoying but it's our first holiday being combined with the other unit and it might be a good way to continue with the idea we are one and not separate.  An idea some just don't like or accept.

We're having a potluck at bowling next week too.  No other parties to go to.  I used to get invited to a few parties this time of year but that's stopped.

Routine cooking and cleaning day if I'm in the mood.  LOL. Hope to get to sleep early tonight.  Will avoid the usual nap.

Good morning all!

Ado, that is scary about the tornado!  Good you are safe.

((((((((((((((((( No Stars )))))))))))))))))  Hope today is better.

Joe, sounds like you have gift-giving all buttoned up, only wrapping to go.  Good planning.   Hope today is good for you.

Tweety, you have some great memories from this block of time off.  Glad you enjoyed the movie (hi to George!).

We dressed dapper and went to Disneyland yesterday.  It wasn't as crowded as other times, and we really enjoyed seeing the decorations!  We walked in through Downtown Disney, they did a great job with decorated trees and wrapped "gifts" all interspersed in the greenery, and lights.  In Disneyland park we got to see two bands, and visit with two long-time friends (musicians).  It was good to see them, and listen to the bands.  We took the train around the park, and when we disembarked at Main Street station, the Christmas parade had just started, so we got to watch most of that.  Till we got too cold, standing there!  I retrieved my coat and gloves from a locker, and felt much better when walking around.   We ate at a Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel.  We tried to get some of their yummy gingerbread men, sold in the lobby, but they were out!  So we stood by the grand piano and listened to four carolers/bell ringers, singing songs of the season.  Young 20-somethings, talented to be able to sing so many songs a cappella!  So, that was our Christmas gift to us, to see the decorations at Disneyland.  It was a really nice day.  My only regret is we didn't stay long enough to see the "snow."  But, maybe next year!

Today I have a couple errands to do, and rest up after the walking yesterday.

Have a good day!

Good frosty morning! The sky is clear, which usually results in chilly nights. Our forecast for very cold weather has been pushed forward. Perhaps we’ll have a white Christmas.
(((((Stars))))). You know you have our support across the internet and wise words from Tweety. I hope you can connect with Al-Anon.
Gosh, Annie, that is scary close about the tornado! I’m glad that you all are safe.
dh has been doing all the wrapping, I help fold a corner or two. I’m going shopping tomorrow after a dentist visit.
We were at Disneyland one year at Christmas and yes, the decorations are lovely. I like gingerbread but it doesn’t like me —> heartburn.

Yes, Ado, tornadoes in the middle of the night can't be fun.

Dianah, glad you had a good time at Disney.

Won of my coworkers texted me from Disney World Orlando bemoaning the crowds and that you had to have a reservation to eat at the restaurants.  Apparently they are having a good year with an average daily attendance of 57,000 a day for 2022.  Even with inflation that's impressive.  Apparently the 2nd half of December is our Disney's most busiest time of the year. I bet it's pretty but I'll stay away.  It is the most popular theme park in the world.

I spent a crazy amount of time trying to pay my painter a 25% deposit with with the Zelle app. I accepted her estimate and it was actually not as bad as I thought, but indeed horribly expensive.   I deleted it and reinstalled it, checked the numbers and kept getting an error.  Called the bank to see if they needed to turn something on and they said it wasn't compatible with their bank and it's works sometimes for some people and not for others.  I used it well over a year ago and it worked then.  The painter is coming by to pick up a check the old fashioned way.  She said I'm not the only one having trouble with Zelle.  So much for technology.

J22, hope you get your white Christmas.  Looks like we're having a cold front move through.  It's near 80 now but supposed to get into the low 50's and even upper 40's for a low this weekend.

After the storms went through yesterday morning the sky has been completely clear and sunny. Today it's cooler -- about 45 vs 55 yesterday. There is a very small potential that we, too, will have a white Christmas, with a projected high of 34 on Christmas Day.

Most of our shopping has been things that people have asked for and know they are getting. I need to order some things for the little girls. I always try to give books along with other things. Will probably be a pretty simple Christmas around here. And I, for one, am fine with that.

Drunk again. I may very well read him the riot act, but what good does it do if he is already drunk. Like yesterday, he "promised" me the little bottle he just finished was 'the last one'. HA! But he went out this morning and got more.

Later, guys~

Hubby asked me when he takes his next Xanax, and I went "HA!" He said "What's so funny about that?" I told him he could hardly walk now, so he doesn't need anything more that will make it worse. He then decided he was going upstairs and go to bed. Good.

I told him he doesn't know or appreciate what it is like to be scared ALL DAY that he'll once again drink more than he can handle and fall again.

Friday's appointment can't come fast enough for me. I intend to ship him out to rehab whether he likes it or not.

So sorry Stars.  Remember what I said the last 10 times you said "This doctors appointment can't be soon enough".

There doesn't seem to be a happy ending here.  You have to somehow detach, not that you don't love and care for him.  But you're trapped in a situation that is causing you personal harm.  You can take him to his doctor's appointment and let it go from there.  Tell him you are not stopping at the liquor store ever again for him, that you will report him to the authorities for suspected drunk driving, and other ways of making him face the consequences of his actions.

I know you can't leave the marriage, but you can let him know since he stopped participating and caring about you and your marriage, you're going to let go as well.

There's no such thing as a hopeless case but in the meantime you have to look after yourself and not destruct along with his self-destruction.  You didn't cause it and you can't fix it.

You deserve to be happy in whatever way is possible.

❤️Thank you, Tweety. I know you are right. I am reading your post over and over. He's GOT to go into rehab Friday, PERIOD. I really do appreciate you being honest and telling me like it is.

Might as well tell you of the Fall du Jour --- 9 PM: He was upstairs, and as he was on the top of the 6 stairs, he says he bent over to pick up something on the rug, which he says he thought was a pill that had been dropped; got dizzy and fell, forward and slid down on his belly, landing on his face on the hall floor. He has a nice 'egg' in the middle of his forehead. More skin tears on his arm. His eyes went back and forth, back and forth. HE says they have been doing that, but I've never seen it happening. It scares me because I wonder if it's a signal of some damage to his brain? I don't remember enough of my training to understand that symptom.

But, nooooo, he absolutely refuses for me to call for an ambulance. I said that if the doctor wants to have anything else diagnosed, hubby still has to go to rehab and stop drinking, and then he may have to go to a specialist, which might involve another hospitalization. He just SO wants this to be something that hasn't been diagnosed correctly. He is blind as a bat about himself.

But he said that whatever the doctor says, goes. Damn straight! I am not going through one more weekend with this sh*t going on

I did have a come to Jesus talk with him, but since he had been drinking, he said, "I know, I know." and not long after that he took two more little bottles of that peach vodka this evening. When I gave him his PM pills he said, "Is there a Xanax in there?" And he swallowed it with the last little bottle of vodka "so I can sleep tonight." GAWD. He even admitted that if he got caught by the cops he could lose his license and he doesn't want to do that!

???....I'm dreaming of a DRY Christmas.

Signing off for now....

I noticed our dog Kelly having this symptom when we were afraid she had had a stroke and she was diagnosed with canine cognitive dysfunction so I've tended to associate it with neurological damage.  So I'm somewhat relieved to see that a common cause is intoxication:

Thank you, Annie. (Whew) I knew it was some kind of "stygmus" but couldn't remember anything else, so you post was welcomed!
