It's the official first day of Winter

Hi Tweety

Ado congratulations to your ds.   That is odd that she would take so long to deposit that check

NJ22 that sounds like the weather we're going to have

Stars I hope you can find your keys.  I can definitely understand being frazzled, I was hope you are able to practice some self care

Work was bad yesterday, got 3 new cases and the person I'm covering got 1 as well.  Cut lunch short and rushed and managed to get it all done.  Whole team has been hit hard.  Hoping today will be easier, we'll have just 1 person out today rather than 2

Texted with J, he's getting ready for his trip to Pittsburgh, and fairly nervous about it (as he is about so many things).  He didn't bring up the procedure, and I didn't ask

After work got out to do the grocery shopping.  Tonight I'm too busy and tomorrow the Winter storm hits

Tonight have another online meeting with the political group  to work on a presentation.  Then will likely attend our church's Blue Christmas service.  Have never been to one, and I figure it's a good idea, I think that the breakup has left me a little blue this Christmas.

Will be up to 30 or so today, so not too bad.  Snow should start tomorrow around noon

Hello all!

Joe, hope today at work is better for you, not as crazy.  I have attended our church's Blue Christmas service, and found it comforting.  It is nice they hold the service, hope it is meaningful for you.  Stay safe and warm during the storm!

Yesterday we attended the jam at the County museum.  It is organized as part of therapy for veterans, and most of the participants were veterans.  We arrived early and got a chance to walk around the museum.  We hadn't been there for some 15 years or so, and it has REALLY changed.  Very nice displays and exhibits, highlighting our County and discoveries made in it.  We agreed we will become members and then we can go frequently.

So, we walked around briefly inside the museum, then headed out to some out-buildings (past a train engine and caboose, parked!!), where the jam was held.  Next to where the jam was held, was an interactive, exploration room for children, featuring animals (will have to check it out another time, I took our kids there many times when they were growing up!).

It turned out to be a large jam, probably 12 people showed up.  They all knew each other, and had books they used, to follow the songs.  We followed along as best we could, and enjoyed meeting everyone.   The jam went from 1 to 3, and when we got home it was close to 4pm.  Were we tired!!  LOL, we ate a late lunch and then took a nap!  (which didn't help me, when I got to bed later, but Oh Well!)

Today I will head to the grocery store.  Maybe bake a cranberry bread.

Have a good day!

Hi. It’s still cold. Down to 9 during the night, chill factor takes it down to -5. Clear and sunny today, snow possible tomorrow. I’m at work, trying to update the state data base which is of course, locked. Frozen, so to speak, LOL. There are very few staff here today. Many are working from home. I need to read a few TB skin tests this afternoon, so I’ll stick around. I do need to update a presentation for some nursing students. And I’m down to 19 work days!

Nannie and I went to the hairdresser this morning, and THIS time I made SURE she did not fall! They did manage to get her blood off the new concrete walkway.?

When we were both done, I took hubby's glasses to the eye place so they could straighten the frame from his last/most recent fall. Dropped off several bags of books at the Women's Shelter. Got a Subway sandwich to split for  lunch at home.

When we got back, hubby said he had thought of calling me so I could get him a steak sub, but decided NAW. But then, once we got here, he came up with the excuse that he believed he'd go to MacD's for a cheeseburger. To me that was "code" I wasn't supposed to "get", that meant he was most likely to go to the ABC store for more vodka. (I picture him like Gollum holding the bottle(s) and saying in a familiar hiss.... "my Preciousssss...")

Hope y'all in The Bleeezard Zones come out safe on the other side of the storms predicted!

Nannie is "sewing" her poncho edges with her eyes closed. LA-LA Land!

Calif brother left me a text message in answer to mine....He is about 100 miles south of Redding. He said he probably would have slept through the earthquake, except he woke up and had to pee. He thinks it might have been their  (?) 2.4 tremblor that woke him up, but he doesn't remember; only noticed his bladder. HA! Figures! How blase'!

My eldest ds used to live in Fortuna, close to the epicenter of the CA earthquake. It’s a long way from Redding.

Good day!

Had an uneventful day.  We got plenty of rain last night.  Still relatively comfortable in the low 70's.  Seems like when we are cold Dianah gets warm.  Really not looking forward to near freezing this weekend.

I was in charge but didn't have a patient assignment but helped out with both sites and we had 30 patients total so I stayed busy.

Our former poster here "Spidey's Mom" said they could feel the earthquake where she lives but that she slept through it.  The novel I'm reading is set in Palm Springs and a story line was there was an earthquake.  At least with hurricanes you generally know when they are coming.

We had sonic booms a couple of days ago and at first we were being told it was a seismic event.

This morning there was "freezing fog". It's about 35 degrees right now but predicted to be 4 by noon tomorrow. Our church canceled the Blue Christmas service that was planned for this evening due to fears about the weather. I remember church services in Indiana beong canceled because of extreme cold. It was -27 and this was a little church out in the country.

The father of one of our providers was a patient in our med/surg unit and died today. Only one nurse on the floor so I was trying to help but not much to do.

Received a 5 year service pin today. A little surprised because I did leave and do some contracts for about a year in 2019-2020. I stayed on PRN though and worked several shifts.

Also saw the ortho doc today. He wants to get an MRI of my ankle.

Hope you had an easier day at work, Joe. Hello to all!!
