Tweety I've been thinking about making an Indian curry dish for next week

Stars sounds like a productive day, hope there weren't any falls

Ado I tend to be old fashioned and look in cookbooks when I'm not sure what to make

Work was quite slow yesterday, a little busier in the afternoon as I helped some other people out.  The computer guy called, they weren't able to find anything wrong with the phone.  We're supposed to call yesterday to tell me when to pick it up but didn't. Texted him and waiting for a response. Did grocery shopping and exercise after work

Today will call the computer guy if I don't get a response to the text.  Have a haircut scheduled after work.  Otherwise should be a pretty ordinary day

Will be in the low 40s again, with rain most of today

It is 1:30PM and I have been lolling in bed for 2 + 1/2 hours. I do have things to do, both errands and housework. But after my laundry extravaganza yesterday I feel sapped of interest in carrying on with my day. I think about staying in bed ALL DAY, but it is not a wise idea, so I am about to get up and get dressed and push on through the day.

Whoooopeeeeee. 😖

Hello all,

It has been warming up here, was 85 degrees yesterday when I was doing errands.  Also, dh and I visited with a friend who was widowed last year.  It was good to see her and catch up, she is a remarkable woman.  We had Thai food at our favorite Thai restaurant -- ended with their homemade coconut ice cream, yum!

I did some shredding on Monday -- three white bags full!  Yesterday I rearranged the billing/filing "area".  I am trying to be more organized, and to weed out things we don't need.  It's a real job, I tell ya.  This is NOT in my genes, nor is it in dh's -- more's the pity!  Ah well, baby steps.

With 'only' four cats now, litter boxes don't fill up as quickly as they used to.  We are still adjusting to the change, in litter boxes and within the house.  I still expect to see Toby in my face, wanting attention, or getting on the back of my chair (he'd just PLOP!! himself down!) when I'm at the computer.   And I miss seeing quiet little Suzy, with her beautiful tuxedo coloring.  Ah, life.

Our neighbor came to ask if we'd seen his tortoise in our back yard.  It's about a foot in diameter, and he said he'd looked all over in HIS backyard...  and there was a hole under the fence, that the previous neighbor's dog had dug, -- new neighbor thought the tortoise might have gone that route and into our yard.  Dh was ready to go out and look, when neighbor came back and said he'd found it under a rosemary bush!  Trying to stay cool!  As he was holding it while we were talking, it pooped on his foot!  Reminded me of our iguanas, in years past...  They go when they gotta go.  Anyway, glad he found it!

I slept well the last couple nights, though I didn't get to sleep till after 2 or so.  I stay in the room till after dh feeds the cats in the morning, so I can sleep in. 🙂

Have a good day and evening!

I was able to sleep until 4 am, so I'm slowly turning my wake/sleep cycle around. Volunteered at the demo garden this morning. Things have really grown. I moved some heavy stepping stones around, moved a baby's breath plant, and pulled some weeds. My co-volunteer had a mini-stroke last week, but she insisted on coming today. Her husband drove her and was watching closely.
ugh, allergies are causing itchy eyes and runny nose. Time to hit the Claritin, double dose for a few days.

I found the recipe I had bought ground chicken for - "meatloaf" patties with tomato gravy. Was actually quite good. Had the refrigerated store-bought mashed potatoes and sauteed some spinach. For today, I have tossed the ball into the guys' court to find something we can eat before Hubs and I go to choir practice.

It's 79 and sunny today and I would love to just spend some time outside. Got my lab results back and A1C improved a little. Cholesterol is a little worse but still not bad (112 LDL and 71 HDL).

dianah, your story reminds me of a day that Twin A and I were having dinner with my parents a few years ago. The dogs were in the backyard barking up a storm and Twin A went out to see what was going on. There was a tortoise or turtle in the yard. Twin A went to pick it up and carry it back to the alley so the dogs couldn't get to it. My dad, who had fairly severe dementia by then, said, "Be careful. It'll leak." 🙂 He remembered what they do when you pick them up! And it did!

Last night was my night to ignore chores. My mother was one of the most organized people I've ever met but I did not inherit that from her. "organizationally challenged" best describes me and my kids. I really have to make an effort to maintain order and know where things are when I need them.

Oh Ado, I chuckled about your tortoise story!  Yup!  They do leak!

Also, I did NOT inherit any sort of organizational gene or skills.  It is an EFFORT to maintain things orderly.  My orderly friends seem to do it all the time, effortlessly, with clear views as to what is to be done when, and what goes where.  Again, It. Is. An. Effort. for me!  My housekeeping style may best be described as: "There appears to have been a struggle."

I HAVE been trying to tackle little bits here and there, going through things, tossing things and dusting (Oh my, the DUST!).   We have been in this house almost 40 yeras, and raised the kids in it.  Can you imagine the STUFF we have??  (don't try, LOL!)  Today I rooted through the cups in the kitchen cupboard.  Got four small boxes of various sized mugs and cups and things.  The cupboard now has readily-available (and clean!) cups.  Even some of the old Tupperware cups, in various pastel colors, LOL!  Could NOT throw them out!

It is 88 degrees out, so we are comfortable inside with the A/C on.  We had Thai leftovers for lunch.  I should practice on the guitar, to keep my calluses up before going to jams and festivals in the Summer.

Have a good evening!

G'day!

I'm a fairly organized person.  I have things in a fireproof box like my living will and passport.  But I also find I don't need or have a lot of papers.  Guess being poor and single there isn't a lot of stuff I need to file away.  Everything bill wise and bank wise is digital and paperless.

Also love being a minimalist and every few years will clean out my closet and throw stuff out.  What I do have is a lot of books and music and they are not organized.

Working tomorrow.  We are going to be short staffed in the coming weeks for various reasons.  I guess with the stock market crashing I'd best put in some overtime when it comes up.

Have a great evening.
