Weatherford College LVN Spring 2016

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone! So I have decided in my nursing program pursuit that I am going to go ahead and apply to the weatherford college lvn program and then bridge. Does anyone know what kind of schedules we will have? Trying to get an idea of work schedule vs school schedule. I am also going to take the compass help class to get a feel for it but im wondering if I should go on and try to take I it this week also just to get an idea what its like?? Anywho, if theres anyone else out there that will be applying with me come say hi! Oh also I will be commuting from masfield let me know if I have any close buddies for study groups if we get in!

If we graduate in December then we would be able to do the fast track application in the spring 2017 for TCC. I hope we would graduate by December 2016!!!

I will probably stay at WC for my adn I had to transfer out of Tcc because I had been dragging along there for so long and I had a few classes in the beginning I got F's in because I didn't know I was supposed to drop them or even how to and then I withdrew from a few classes a few years later which accumulated so I can't get financial aid there anymore

I live right next to TCC NE campus so Weatherford is far for me!!! I have a degree from TCC and they won't allow finiacial aid unless I'm enrolled in a program like nursing then I can appeal the decision to get finiacial aid. I really want TCC RN program cause it's so close to home. If I get an A in this class that will bring my GPA up to a 3.3 and if I can get my Hesi up a few more points then I'm almost certain to get in but I'm not sure if I want to risk that so LVN is my back up. Plus WC I can get finiacial aid and I really need that as we are on one income with two kids. I heard that the Clinicals for WC can be in Decatur and stefenville.

Yea that's why I'm doing it at WC also. It is a long drive for me too but I've just decided to deal lol. Yea I heard that on clinicals too but I've also heard if you sign up for your preferred locations and such if they know you already have a commute like ours just to get to WC they try to help get locations that aren't going to kill you to get to

Do either of you know when they send out the letters for spring?

That is great that they try to work with you!! I'm willing to deal with the long commute to reach my dream of being a nurse.

They send the letters out 6-8 weeks after the deadline. More like 6 weeks

Too bad none of us live near each other to carpool! I live in Glen Rose so I drive an hour to any school I go to.

I don't look forward to the waiting game again! In 2013 looks like they got their letters Oct 23-27th

Good luck asmyth12! You are going to do great!

Hey ladies I don't know if this will catch you in time but do I need to take any change to pay for the copies of the compass I need to print? Cuz I know if you print something in the success lab it's like .10 a sheet
