Like some others stated above I wear scrubs even if the parents tell me it is ok to wear street clothing - I work pediatric cases, too many chances of getting stuff on my clothing while working. The only time I will wear street clothing is if I had to attend some kind of outing wear the scrubs were not practical - last summer I went to the water park and the amusement park a few times with the family and I wore khaki shorts with an agency Tshirt.
Specializes in Complex pedi to LTC/SA & now a manager.
Same here I get messages to dress for an outing...beach, amusement, water park. = Bermuda shorts & agency shirt. The agency gave them to us for Nurses Week last year, came in handy with my active patients
