WCCCD Fall 2009

Just wondering who went to the application meeting and what your thoughts are. I figured there were about 100-120 people. A few left because they were not prepared. I was one of the last to leave and was surprised at the people who were clueless.

If you are going to apply it was pretty painless. You fill out an application and check your stuff ten different times. You put them in order and she staples them together. The board you follow says letters will be out by July which I think is a little longer than they will actually be becasue the next application date is June for Spring 09.

Just a reminder:

Transcrips from all schools you have attended

HS Diploma or GED certificate

Net results

2 reference letters on letterhead if work related

1 essay

Police clearance ( within 30 days) people screwed up this one

Yellow information meeting slip

I think that is it.

Good luck to all:yeah:

I went to the app meeting on FEB 16 and I really dont think there was 120 ppl there. A friend of mine went on the 26th of FEB and counted the ppl and said there was 68....

Yeah I went to the Feb 26 meeting and no more than 70 people were there. I heard on this forum that someone called the office and was told the letters will be sent out the end of April. That would be great!!! But I won't hold my breath. Hopefully I know before summer classes start. If I didn't get in I can drop my summer classes and take them in the Fall. Good luck to you guys!!

Yes, I called the Nursing program and asked when they would mail out the letters, because I need to know if I should apply in June again. Half the amount of ppl applied this time. I am going to call again on friday (after spring break) just to see what they say and let everyone know. They do not ask your name and I block my number!LOL

crazybutterflygirl!!!!!!!!!!!!

help any new info!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! need to know when we can start doing the happy dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called and they said they were mailing out letters at the end of this wk....

Just to let you guys know, the letters are out!!!! Mailed the 23rd. Just got mine in the mail today. And yes I got in!!! Now we have until June 17 to get all our medical requirements done. So if anyone has any low cost places I can go to (for Titer, measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, Hepatitis boosters, 10 panel drug test, physical exam, and TB test) please share. I have no insurance, so it will be cash paid out. Thanks

Hey everyone! I live in canada and wont get my letter for another 4-6 days. For those who got in can u let me know what your gpa and other info is. I am on my last nerve and cant last another day!

Well since it is not based on only gpa here's mostly what they took in consideration that I know of: I have a pre-req gpa 3.5 (Overall 3.8), transfered 6 credits (eng & psy), Net was: compos 78% & compre 73%, no other medical background (though I did work at a chiropractic office and that was one of my references). Hope that helps you figure out if you have a good chance of getting a happy letter(well a few days before you actually get the letter)!!!

Wow thats awsome we are almost identical lol! ive taken all pre and co reqs at WC3 with a 3.5 overall, 77 on reading comprehension 78 composite and had 1 medical reference. The reason i was worried is my gpa. My friend got his letter yesterday and got accepted with a 3.6. Now that i know a 3.5 got in im pretty confident.. Thanks for the quick reply

I'm just glad I was able to help!!! I know I've been going crazy, and I actually thought I was going to have to wait until Monday or Tuesday. So I was stunned and very, very happy when I got it Friday and that it was good news!!! I though my GPA was too low too. I actually am taking eng 119 and psy 101 again this semster just so I could raise my GPA ( and actually getting As in both which would have brought up pre-req to 4.0). But I was determined to get in by early 2010 and since spring deadline it June had to do it this semester. Hopefully you will get a happy letter soon!!!!

Good Morning Everyone

And congrats to everyone that was accepted into the program
