What is everyone's gpa? Mine should be a 3.4 after this semester.

I am taking my last pre-req this semester and if I get an A it will be 3.7, if I get a B then 3.6. What's your net score? When are you applying?

Hi,
I am applying for the fall semester and I have a 3.78 GPA with pre-reqs and my gpa is a little higher when you include my co-reqs it is a 3.8 or something like that. I submitted my application at the end of March and it's driving me crazy to wait until July to find out if I was accepted.
I am so nervous about the GPA thing. Does anyone know what the lowest they took last time was?
Did they tell you when in July we will find out if we're accepted? I am applying on May 23rd.
About how many people were there applying when you did? What was your NET score?
There were about 50-60 people there when I applied but many were turned away for not have the proper documentation. I mean some of the people there had no clue as to what was going on or what was was required to apply for the program.
My HSC 100 instructor told me that June 30 was when the letters would be mailed but the lady at the application session said it would be in July that we would hear something.
My composite NET score was 78, I hope that a 3.78 GPA would be good enough. I have straight A's in all my pre-reqs and co-regs, except for B's in DT 130 and Bio 295. The 4 classes I have now, I am also averaging A's in. I worked my butt off for my GPA, I hope that it helps!!

Trust me, once you are in the program, your GPA or anyone else's for that matter will not be important. Getting a 75 or higher will be your main focus. Good luck.
i thought i was going to take the summer off and relax, waiting for a letter. i am going stir crazy already!!! i don't think i'm going to make it until july. :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3: :uhoh3:
Is anyone else applying tomorrow? I am, I have all of my stuff printed out and ready and I'm excited. It's going to be tough to wait until July to find out if I get in. Does anyone know about how many people have applied so far for the Fall? Good luck to everyone!

i'm not applying today, but i will be doing so on the 30th. i'm in the process of obtaining my reference letters and writing my essay. i'll be completely ready by monday. i'm nervous about whether or not i'll get in, but excited at the same time. i wish that we found out sooner than the end of july. the suspense is going to kill me! i have no idea how many people have applied. it would be nice to know the numbers of our competition. let us know how the application meeting goes. i plan on getting down there early. good luck to you as well!
I went to the application meeting today and it was unorganized and there were a lot of people. There was probably over 100 people there which makes me very nervous. It started at 5:30, and I got there at about 5. I sat in the third row because the first two were full already. When they initially started to do the applications, they started from the front row, 8 people at a time. They wouldn't give the apps until you went up to the table. It was ridiculous and taking forever. People were fighting to run up to the front row to be next. So then after 3 groups of 8 people went up, Ms. Norris made everyone write their name on a slip of paper and it became a random drawing. Then she finally handed out apps to everyone, and this sped up the process quite a bit.
I got there at 5 and did not leave until 8:45, and there were probably 30 people left to go when I left. Also, I attended an information meeting last summer, before they started doing information meeting verification forms. I knew nothing about these until today. Fortunately, I knew what day my meeting was, so I was allowed to write it on the front of the app and they will supposedly look it up. Also beware, the reference letters are supposed to be dated for May.
So I am feeling a little pessimitic about being accepted with my 3.6. There were a lot of people there and this was just one of the meetings. I especially was feeling crappy when the girl who sat by me for 3 hours was a 4.0. It just made me wonder how many students in the room were higher than me. I guess I'll just hope for the best. Good luck next week. In case you didn't know that meeting is at 1 or 1:30, they changed it from 5:30. So just double check and get the right time.

wowwww, that sounds insane! i'm still tripping off of the fact that you got there at 5 and didn't leave until almost 9. that's ridiculous! i appreciate you letting us know how it went so that we'll know what to expect for those of us going next week. i plan on getting down there at 12. i'm going to be tired being that i'm going straight from work so hopefully i won't be down there for a long time. the large amount of applicants makes me nervous as well, but if i don't get in, i'll just try again. well thanks again, and i sincerely wish you the best of luck! i'll post with details once i go....

Wow, best wishes to everyone applying for the fall. I had a friend attend the meeting for the 24th. She also said it was a mad house and VERY unorganized...:uhoh21: . If you are planning on attending the application meeting for the 30th, make sure you have both papers of the background check. My friend had everything in order except for the 2nd sheet of the check, and she was turned away. Oh another thing, when I applied, they did not accept reference letters from WCCCD instructors.
I don't know what it is with the fall start vs the winter start. My application meeting back in September was as smooth as silk. I applied at the Eastern campus, there were only about 30-40 people in the meeting and we were done in less than an hour.
You guys just hang in there. {{Hugs}}
