i am looking for ways to help me get ready for nursing schhol next fall. i took all my sciences and math up to calculus. i took anatomy as well. over the summer i volunteered at my local hospital. i know basic first aid and cpr. i am thinking about taking an EMT course. what should i do??

Hello!
Prepare to take the TEAS test. Some people pass it the first time, others have a real hard time. I'd say focus on that first to get it out of the way... w/o it you can't get into nursing school.

Instead of EMT, maybe take a CNA class? Might be faster with a greater potential to work in different environments so you can see what it's like.

I agree with carakristin1... don't take EMT unless that's what you want to do in your career. The scope of duty is different for an EMT than for a nurse. If you want to be a nurse, take the CNA classes. Some only last a couple of weeks and it would give you a start in the nursing world.
