Just wanted to start a thread where students (previous, current, and future) from the nursing program at Wayland can vent, talk, ask and share ideas and questions. Maybe it can make life easier and less stressful. So share and ask so we can help each other get through school and life somewhat stress-free!!

Or maybe someone has questions about the school and programs. I was originally going to transfer to UTHSCSA from ACCD but this program has less applicants and closer to home. If I would have known about this school sooner I would have not taken classes I took for UTHSCSA that I didn't need for WBU.

I don't know!! I would call or check online. Drive down & get it over with.

Yay! I got mine done on Saturday at the Nix downtown! So now I'm finishing loading up all my immunization records, it's weird, it says our deadline is today, but on the letters I got from school it says our deadline is in september. So weird.

That's good ur almost done then!! Yeah it's all due today remember I told u a couple days ago that Monday was it!! My letter says that everything is due the second week in July. Maybe our letters are different cuz I'm doing generic & ur doing bridge. Do u start on the 19th of August or September? I looked & we take the same classes except for 3 after the first semester so I was thinking maybe y'all start later then we all merge. Don't know!! I guess we'll see. Did u get ur orientation letter?!

I did! I got my orientation letter, I'm excited for it! Yea, I remember, it says monday also. So I have to do get my record for my Hep B stuff and thats really it. Yea mine doesnt say anything about the second week and I 've read over it alot! O well, at least I'm done pretty much.

Did y'all see that the lab fees and tuition went up? :(

$50 more on some labs, so now it's $100

$20 more per credit hour so now it's $355 per credit hour.

Man it was already expensive but I guess it's not tooo bad, I've seen worse lol

True, true. Well its not too much of a bump I guess. Man I'm so excited for school! I met some of the LVN's who are trying to LVN to BSN too, I hope we all get it.

That's right u went to that LVN refresher huh?!

How was it? Were there a lot of y'all? Did u see that the schedule is out?

I went to the refresher...um..but wasn't really "refreshed." The lady who was supposed to be helping us basically stood there and said she wasn't exactly sure what they wanted her to teach us. So I didn't really benefit. And then the lady said that we are being tested on the skills on the ATI videos...so basically if we want to pass we have to buy the ATI modules. I was pretty frustrated.

Really!! Well that was dumb!! So how much are the modules & when were they going to tell you that's what you were going to be tested on? I would have been frustrated tooo!! Well sorry & good luck!! You have what 2 weeks till u test right?
