Watts School of Nursing 2015

Hi everyone!

I am scheduled to take the HESI A2 on Feb 14. Anybody else hoping to get in this year? Also, are there any current students that could give us some insight on the pre-admissions test and the application process? Any info would be helpful!

Wow. What was your HESI score, GPA, etc? What dis you write your essay on? What did the letter state, exactly?

My HESI scores were in the 80s for math and high 90s for English portion. I don't know what my GPA was in HS- 3. something. Essay was awesome I though, I answered all questions in paragraph form with detail. The letter says as followed

Dear Ms. Watson,

The students committee of the Watts School of Nursing has carefully reviewed your application. The Committee's decision is to not accept you into the program.

Per the Admissions Policy: "Meeting Watt's minimum requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the School. Individual consideration is given to each applicant. Only one application will be accepted." The decision of the Students Committee is final; therefore your opportunity to pursue admissions to Watts has ended.

This completes your process with Watts. We appreciate your interest in and application to the program. We wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavors. Jennifer Hawkins.

I am praying there is some mistake. My husband and I think maybe I should email her and find out at least what happened and if there has been a mistake? Advice??

Ask her the explanation why your not qualified for ??? If you passed the HESI exam. No reason ur denied!!

Yeah at least ask her for the reasoning why. I can't imagine why you were not accepted unless they are tightening their admissions standards.

Writing the essay for the application? Wasn't hard. Went to an open house and they told me to sale myself in the essay since there is no interview. For me it was just a matter of how I wanted them to see me as a person and future nursing student.
