Watts School of Nursing 2015

Hi everyone!

I am scheduled to take the HESI A2 on Feb 14. Anybody else hoping to get in this year? Also, are there any current students that could give us some insight on the pre-admissions test and the application process? Any info would be helpful!

Thanks. :)

It's not the AFTER part I am worried about. I am worried about paying for the program in order to continue being a student...if that made sense. lol If I could get enough loans or receive a scholarship, that would be great. How is everyone else financing their education?

I'm using left over money from my first degree I receied from the VA (I'm a dependent). Everything else will hopefully be scholarships and small loans. Have you filled out your application yet?

Hi Everyone,

Planning to take Hesi A2 exam in Watts next month September but I'm so nervous about this exam and hope I pass it. Can someone tell me how this exam goes. I already bought two review books.. One was Admission Assessment from HESI.. Please I need advice and information so that I can pass it.. Thanks.

Don't worry about the HESI! My greatest advice would be to study fractions and metric conversion for the math portion. You do get a calculator on the math portion. I used the Elsevier study guide for the HESI and it helped me a LOT.

Hi brendagav. I did well on the HESI A2. Took only one time and got 94 comprehension, 98 grammar, 98 vocabulary which gave me a 96.6 composite for that part and I got a 96 on the math section. I graduated high school 25 years ago and math was never a strong area for me. If I can do it just about anyone can do it! :-)

I used the recommended book by Elsevier and Hesi A2 Study Guide 2015, Test prep and practice questions. For extra math practice I used the khan academy website. I felt well prepared for the exam. Good luck. [h=1][/h]

Thanks for your great advice.. Where did you take your HESI A2 exam.? I sign up online and my testing center is in Raleigh. !! How about you guys? Where did you take yours.. Info please

Is there a way I can rent or buy your pre-requisite notes and books. If you don't use it anymore. I like to have it. While you are ahead of me for this program. . Thanks

I have most of them posted on ebay but feel free to message me about books when you are starting your program and I'll let you know if I still have them.

About how close to the start of the semester does mount olive start calling for advising?

I started in January, and I had my advising meeting sometime mid-December. However, I believe they start doing advising appointments starting in October or November to get everyone in.

Hi BioChick23. Did you receive your acceptance letter? Since I was pretty late with my application we did everything immediately (financial aid, meeting with UMO, etc.) Orientation was a week or so before classes started and I had finished my paperwork only a few days before that. I really don't know when they contact you if you are accepted early. I'm just excited to see you still moving through the process!

I'm kinda nervous the HESI A2 exam this coming Spet 16,2015. Been studying the elseveir book.. Hopefully I can pass one time ..

Hello,

I am hoping there is someone still around in this forum to help me out.

I applied to Watts last month. Passed HESI, turned in both applications, essay, background ETC. Saturday, I rec'd a letter stating I was not accepted and my journey with this school has ended. I am still in complete shock. I was under the impression that this school has an almost 100% acceptance rate. I am married to a police officer. Have 2 kids. Have never even been convicted of a traffic violation, so I know there was nothing on my background check to be flagged. Ms. Hawkins called me two weeks ago just to let me know one of my transcripts from a community college didn't show up so I resent it. Then I rec'd this letter I wasn't chosen. I literally can find no one on any forum who didn't get into the program. Does anyone know anyone else that has been through this? Does anyone think I should email Ms. Hawkins and find out if there's been a mistake made or at least find out why I wasn't chosen to be apart of this program. Any advice would really be appreciated as I am completely devastated and had all my eggs in this basket per say.

Thank you
