Watts School of Nursing June

Published

Wanted to see who else is going to Watts (Mt Olive) starting in June. I just got my acceptance letter today! Wondering who my fellow classmates will be!

I'm not sure on that. I didn't quote exactly from the article, just paraphrasing, and I listed the article on the title page with authors and publication....

I guess I thought that was citing enough, but I'm probably wrong.

i don't think you need to cite throughout the paper since the paper is all based on one study. where did you put the journal info inside your paper- was it on a separate sheet or at the end of the review?

I put article summary of "Name of Article" and the

authors and the publication and date on the title page

and then my name and Psy 330. Maybe it needs to be at the end too??

What about you guys?

Has anyone chosen a topic for the final paper yet? Wonder if they have to be approved again.

Yes, the topic needs to be approved for the final paper and the project.

Careful what you wish for as far as guidelines go. My SOC 230 is over the top with guidelines!

In my previous class it was nice and easy. We put our names and the class at the top right hand corner then below that we put the APA reference for the article. Below that we wrote the summary, critique and at least one thing we'd change. It was pretty easy. 1-2 pages long.

ISN'T IT FRUSTRATING! Talk about a stickler!!

Guys, I'm about to loseit with all this work!! Just when I think i have it under control, I realize thatni still have another paper or project to work on! Older kid home with no school, baby to take care of... AHHHHH I can't keep going to sleep at 3 am!! Anyone have advice?

Phew- feels good to vent!

Wow, Lady, I have no advice. I would tell you to get rid of your kids for the summer, but that doesn't seem to help. I don't have kids, but I'm trying to work as much as I can as long as I can and I'm finding it impossible to get everything done too!!

My husband told me I'm taking it too serious. It's a class, it's assignments, not even our nursing classes yet....don't stress so much. It's hard because I want all A's, but I may have to relax my standards a bit to get by and still hold onto my sanity!

Hang in there.

Trust me, I've considered getting rid of the kids for summer, but jail comes to mind... That'll only increase my worries, so not a good route...

I don't know if I'll have any sanity left when this is all said and done!

Ha! Jail might not be the right route, but think, no interruptions and you get recess outside if you're good!!

Oh, you make it sound so tempting!! Lol

I'm right there with you. I've got perfectionist issues :lol2: and need to keep things in perspective. With 3 kids at home for the summer and 8 papers and 2 projects to complete in 3.5 weeks - I downloaded a deep-breathing app to my phone!

I took the kids to the pool yesterday after printing out articles to highlight and make notes on while they swam. It worked great, except for the sunburn on my back from leaning over the table to write. I thought ALL of me was under the umbrella!

We'll knock this out and breathe a sigh of relief before the next round and before we know it we'll have started into clinicals and whatever Watts has for us.

As far as what to do with the kids; I've found that the moms of my daughter's friends are SUPER supportive and have offered to have her play at their house whenever I need to focus. Normally, my house is the gathering place for the neighborhood so this is a bit of an adjustment for EVERYONE!

Hang in there.

P.S. Just got my paper back from SOC230, satisfied with the grade and her comments. It bugs me though that she insisted I reference several ideas that were ENTIRELY my genius. ;-)
