Hello all!
I wanted to make a formal thread for anyone interviewing at/taking a job at WHC for the Feb 2016 Residency Program. What floors were you hoping for? Which floors did you receive an offer for? I accepted an offer today for 4G Surgical ICU. My birthday was yesterday so it was the best birthday gift ever :)
Thank you. I have a ADN too and I'm looking to start a residency program but I didn't have luck. Any advice is going to be appreciated.
I would suggest that you keep on applying even after you receive the "position has been filled" notice. I graduated in December 2015 and I didn't get a new grad job until June 2016. Don't get discouraged. Just keep applying even if you don't get selected the 1st go round. My classmate received a message that the new grad program was no longer hiring. She applied at the end of the following semester and got a callback and ultimately the job. It took her about 7 or 8 months to find her 1st nursing job. So, hang in there and apply, apply, apply!
Hello,
I'm graduating in December, I applied to WHC and received the email to take the batter. How long after you took that where you contacted? They said on their site that because of the high number of applications they can't update everyone on status changes and I can understand that, but for those of you that went through the process could you tell me what your individual time line was like? Also, any tips when searching for jobs as a new grad would be appreciated. Thank you!
I have an interview for ED, may I ask how it's going for you overall? Thank you.
Expect to be busy! It's a busy hospital. It's also a trauma hospital. The helicopter pad stays lit! We hear trauma alerts every few minutes. If nothing else, you will see and learn so much in a short period of time. I'm on a med/surg floor. It's been crazy, but I'm learning a lot. Good luck with your interview. When you get the job, get some good shoes and compression socks. Sitting, eating, and peeing will become luxuries lol!

Thank you! Congrats to you as well! I go in next week to have my physical. I forgot about my paperwork lol. The recruiter said it might be in the spam. I went over my emails to make sure I've done everything and bring everything I need. That's when I saw the reminder to check my spam for the new hire paperwork. I checked the spam and there it was. So, I did that this week. I'm as ready as ready can be. Now, if I could just get my license in time....*bites nails*
