Warsaw Area Hospitals

Hi Everyone,

I need a little advice on area hospitals in the Warsaw Indiana area. My husband may be getting a job at a company located in Warsaw which is 2 hours away from where we live now. We will need to relocate and I will need to find something else. I am wondering if anyone can give advice on hospitals in the area. I am going to seek a prn or registry position to start because we aren't sure how his hours and travel are going to be. I have experience in tele, ER, and Nursery.

I don't personally know work wise how the hospitals are. In Warsaw, you have KCH (Kosciusko Community). There is Woodlawn in Rochester (about a half hour south) It is a smaller hospital. Goshen General in Goshen (about a half hour north). I've heard GGH is pretty decent to work for. There is the Ft. Wayne area as well, which would be a little bit more of a drive. They have Lutheran, Dupont, and a couple of others I think. But for Warsaw itself, KCH is it.

There are also a several urgent care and that type of thing as well. If you don't mind the commute there is Fort Wayne.

ETA: Sorry about the redundant post on Fort Wayne, I didn't read all the way throught the post.

Thank you for the info so far. I have looked up Lutheran in Fort Wayne and that hospital looks the most similar to what I am working for now. Urgent Aids also sound like it would be a good match for me as well.

Goshen General is a Magnet Hospital and is revered (and recognized) as having great dedication and respect for it's nurses. They pay well, as far as I know, and I knew (a few years back) quite a few nurses in the ER. I also have some friends on the Oncology and Med Surg Floors. The ER docs are the same that I worked with at another local hospitals, and they, along with the ER nurses, are some of the most intelligent, proficient, and professional people I've worked with.

I have no experience with the other hospitals that were mentioned, but I would definitely recommend Goshen!

Thank you so much for the info. My hubby's final interview is Monday so next week I may start making some phone calls and Goshen will definitely be one of them.
