I personally attended this school. They intentionally make the classes very difficult and stressful. I barely passed two semesters and was let go on my third semester(mostly my fault but you can PM me if you want the whole story). A friend of mine also went here and she did not make it through the first semester. In my class there were 15 students out of 40 at my campus that were failed. One student had his Bachelor's degree in finance, had the intelligence, put in the effort to pass, and still failed. I do not understand why they make it so difficult, but it is. My friend's class had just about the same number of students and it looks like there are only 20 that moved on to the next semester. This is a school that prides themselves on failing students. They just don't care. There is little to no assistance and you will have a rough time if you do pass.
After I realized how crappy it was and that I never wanted to attend that school again I decided to go to Northwestern Oklahoma State. It is a Bachleor's degree program, but it is so much more friendlier. If you let the teacher know, you can make up a test, they work with you if you have trouble, and it is reasonable and fair. It is also nice to learn the material properly and thoroughly. I highly recommend it and not wasting your money and time going to Northern Oklahoma College of Nursing at any of the campuses.

Disappointing to hear this about any nursing school.
Perhaps feedback from students leaving the program (read: loss of revenue) may spark impetus for change?
Best wishes for success in your present program. :)
I am not bitter or hurt, but I would like to warn anyone applying that about 1/3 students will fail this program. It is a proven statistic in my class and my friends. It makes no sense to attend here unless you just want to be another one added to the list.

I think some schools do that so they could artificially raise their Nclex pass rates by securing what they think to be the best students, when this should really be done during the interview process (if they had one)...it really makes no sense but if they are doing bad I think the board can force them to shut down...its probably a financial decision and not the best environment to learn. My school worked with me when I failed classes, I certainly was not the brightest of the bunch but I still, graduated, passed nclex with 75 questions and now working as an RN. My class had a 99% attrition rate loosing only 1 student due to family and personal issues she had to deal with. We also had a 99% nclex pass rate so far and 1 person left to take it. Hope you have better luck at your new school.
Yes, this is exactly what they are doing. They could care less who passes, but they do care if you pass the NCLEX at the end. They have an 85% pass rate. They don't lose so many as the semesters progress, but they still lose too many in my opinion. They lost four or five in each of the next two semesters. Most of the ones that are weeded out are people that have the intelligence and should have made it with help.
It also makes no sense that I am now achieving a 94% NWOSU and I was struggling to make anything over a 65% Northern Oklahoma College of Nursing. Northern Oklahoma College is a great place to get your associates degree, but I'd forget the nursing department.

It sounds to me like you are very bitter. I don't know where you are getting your statistics, but I graduated from there, and there were not even close to those numbers that did not pass. It is a great program! Very tough, yes, but worth it. So, I would have to say the opposite: Northern Oklahoma College is a great program! I have never replied to a post, but felt so strongly that you were wrong, I felt that I had to. The instructors there helped me a lot and were there to assist me anyway they could, at all hours. NOC has a great history of graduating great nurses! The only people that "were failed", are the ones that were flunking. As you know, nursing school is the most difficult thing you will ever do. I am glad that you found a school that works better for you, but don't bash NOC in the process!!!
My point is this option may work for some people, but there are clearly better options when 1/3 of your classmates are failing(This statistic is from my experience and my frirends that both attended our first semester at NOC). While you may have been one of the ones that made it through this difficult program, it has no reflection on that person's capability as a nurse in my opinion. It is just a program that weeds people out that are weak and doesn't teach or help them to succeed. Things may have changed since you attended. Most of the instructors are new.
If anyone has any questions before they apply I am monitoring this thread to answer any questions you might have.

Hello I already applied into the program but do have some questions, could u text me on my cell 4056029323 thanks
I would still be very wary of this school if I was planning on passing and not wasting money. Not sure of the current situation but usually things don't change much.
