Sorry, but a lot of facilities seek RNs - and increasingly, BSNs -as case managers now because their insurance reimbursement requirements, and accreditation and licensing demand it. Companies get better reimbursement, have better patient outcomes, lower readmission rates and gain more credibility with higher educated staff. More education is always better. Sorry. My CM dept. is phasing out LPNs and only hiring experienced RNs for these reasons. I suggest you spend more time obtaining the education you need to remain competitive in nursing.

I never said I wasn't furthering my education but I am not finished so I am still considered an LPN, I am an LPN but thats not the only thing I have an education in. I am not bitter, just sorry that its not more friendly in here. I think education is a great thing, I didn't say I was opposed to it. I understand all those reasons I just thought this category was open to all nurse case managers no matter what the education level.

Show us an example that specifically says LPN case managers aren't welcome in this part of the forum. Please provide a link to a specific post or TOS that indicates that you are not welcome.

I didn't say anything about NOT being welcome, I was reading through post and it didn't feel welcoming....WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO LIKE YOU HAVE A PROBLEM? I said I wasn't bitter and I am not, you are the one attempting to take this somewhere else. Read through the some of your post and imagine someone from the outside who doesn't know you would feel reading them. I didn't say it was in your intention to make anyone feel some kind of way, I said I did and not mad or bitter just like it wasn't very friendly in here. The first part of your first response was fine but then you took it somewhere else

The ANCC certification requires an RN; the CCM doesn't, but it does require a four-year degree in a health field.

Thank You! I have hooked myself with that Website and my position here gives us all necessary resources and they even pay for it. I am also looking to attend some conferences so that I can get an even better understanding surrounding this booming field. I really appreciate the guidence.

I don't see that in recent posts there but there are a few people here who frequently post their viewpoint even if their viewpoint has nothing to do with the subject of your post. I find most people to be fair-minded once they are dealing with an individual person vs an unseen group as a whole. If you were to post a greeting or question the chances are pretty slim that anyone would tell you that you didn't belong there.
