in 2 years after i graduate from Nursing school i want to move. I have always wanted to live out west in the Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, area. Is it possible for me to just apply for license in the state i chose to move to right after i graduate. Or after i grad do i have to apply for Pennsylvania license and wait around forever for that and then wait again for license in another state???

I don't know the answer
and I hope someone else knows
who can you contact in New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada?
I cannot contact anyone out there, i was just wondering if anyone knew if it was possible when i graduate to just skip over waiting to get licensed in PA since i want to move as soon as i graduate and just apply for licensure in the state i would want to live in. You know what i mean. Basically do i have to get a PA license first or can i just apply to the state i want to live in w/o getting PA first
can you check with the licensing offices?

Yes, you should apply to take your NCLEX exam in the state where you want to practice, which will save you a lot of money and even more time. I took my exam in PA and promptly moved to another state--of course, that was in the paper and pencil days. I actually got my licensure by endorsement before I received the original license. And every time I go for another license I have to pay PA to verify my licensure and my exam scores, even though I've never worked one day as a nurse in PA. Just go ahead and move, then register to take your exam in your new state.
Thank you. I'm really glad to hear that. I just want to be away from here, after 26 years its just time for me to move on after school, and i did not know if i had to be licensed here after school to get licensed in the state i want to move to. thanks again. nite

You can probably even write your Arizona license while still in PA...
I wrote for my Minnesota license while I was in Montanna.
I don't think you physically have to be in that state to get licensure there.
For example, I think it is possible to write your exam in Nebraska even though you want an Alaskan license.
