I applied for a CPNE date on Sept. 24, 2008. I am having a hard time finding a starting point and "putting it all together." Due to current financial deficiencies, I cannot afford to take a workshop. If anyone is in East Texas and just starting the CPNE prep process, I would like to meet and study together.

Did you ever get the files from anticoagulationnurse that were discussed in a lot of the messages? If so, may I please get a copy? Thanks in advance,

Hi...I just applied Nov.3 and live in southeast texas. The study guide is really overwhelming and any advice would be greatly appreciated. I plan on downloading the tips from the forum today (need more ink after printing off the study guide). Thanks for any advice.Terri

Terri, the way I did it was to read the study guide through first -- all the way, beginning to end. Seriously, every freakin' page. Then I got cozy with Section IV -- the critical elements for the areas of care (AOCs). Some people like to tab the various areas of care for quick reference. Read one AOC each day, and study that AOC until you know it. Move to the next. :)
I also set up a lab at home with the skills bag from EC, as well as a dummy patient for practicing AOCs.
