I am a new RN with only 7 months experience in ICU and want to relocate to the Spring, TX area. I completed a formal AACN intership course and have my BLS/ACLS. Can someone please tell me if there are any area hospitals that would be willing to hire me with this limited experience? Also, is it feasible to live in Spring and work at the Texas Medical Center? Any idea what I should expect salary wise? Thank you so much for your response.
The traffic is awful! If you work night shift you will miss the traffic. Starting salary 24.00-26.00 $ per hr. Spring is a nice area to live in. Area hospitals:
Houston Northwest Medical center and Cyfair Hospital -Tenet owned.
Memorial Herman -Woodlands
Methodist- willowbrook
Tomball Regional Hosptial
St. Lukes-woodlands
Conroe Hospital
Conroe Regional Medical Center is about 40 miles north of Houston (appx. 15 miles N of Spring). It's a fairly large hospital with a trama center/hyperbaric dept/cancer center...plus your traveling in the opposite direction of all the traffic. Another plus is The Woodlands school system-it's excellent. Good luck on your job search.
I really appreciate your reply. We are leaving Saturday to go to Houston. We are really excited about the possibilities. Can you please tell me which of the hospitals that you mentioned would be the best to work for?
Thanks again,
Rebecca
