Australia was the best experience I ever had nursing. I lived in Melbourne, learned to surf on my days off, hot sun, cold beer, friendliest people in the world (and this coming from a canadian)
Australia pays time and a half when you work a saturday, and double time to work on sundays. They take weekends VERY seriously there, so if you're will to work them, you can make a ton of dough. Hope this is helpful

I have had the same question and have figured that it won't be a US travel company that sends us to the down under. They bring nurses in to the states. I think there are travel companies out of Australia that might staff New Zealand. I'll be interested to know more too. There is an international forum that is a good resource, i'll look for your posts there and see what you learn.
Hey guys! It has always been a dream of mine to go to Australia and I really want to travel there. Can anyone help me with what company to use for international travel? I have heard that you can only get a 6-12month assignment or longer is that true or do some offer 13wk assn. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I subscribe to a magazine Healthcare Traveler (free). You can subscribe at http://WWW.healthcaretraveler.com. It has lots of ads and one from a co. called Supplemental health Care that advertises for Australia and New Zealand. I don't know if your view on the computer is the same as mine, but right above your post is and ad for nurses for Australia. I haven't looked at it. I hope this helps.

Hello,
I have just registered with Allnurses.com today. I am looking for anyone out there that knows of a travel nursing company that is hiring for travel assignments in Australia or New Zealand. I work in dialysis, PACU, and outpatient endoscopy. I would greatly appreciate the info. Thank you.
