My nursing classes are very early in the morning for clinical. Does anyone have any tips for waking up early? Did anyone get roommates to live close by to school? What was your routine and did it ever get easier?

Try to go to bed and get up around the same time everyday. You will be less tired that way.

Go to sleep early and prepare everything you need the night before. I had to wake up around 4:30, so I would make my lunch and gather all my clinical supplies the previous night so I wouldn't be scrambling the morning of.

Get everything prepped the night before. Go to bed early and get exercise during the day so it is easier to keep the early
bedtime. Don't stray too much from your schedule even on the weekends. It may never be pleasant but you will adapt. As tempting as it is to sleep until the last minute then rush out the door I personally have found early mornings easier to bear when getting up an extra 30 mi earlier than I think I need because it gives me time to get a real breakfast and fully wake up before leaving.

Also, set at least three alarms (one on your phone, two on other alarm clocks), and put the alarm clocks on the opposite side of the room so you have to hop out of bed to turn it off. I've had alarm clocks not go off so it's always a good idea to have a few backups.
I know this is an old bump, but how well rested was everyone for clinical?

Well rested? I'm not sure if one's ever "well rested" during RN school. I do agree with the previous posters about going to bed on a regular time. I've also found trying to get up the same day on class and study days to match when I get up for clinicals to be helpful in terms of trying to have a regular (within +/- 30 to 60 minutes) wake up time and definitely a regular bed time. Tie in getting ready for clinicals the night before with a grab-and-go bag (or whatever is used to store stuff) helps. For my 3rd semester that took place this past spring, I also found having breakfast ready the night before helped speed things up.

Well every semester, we had class MWF starting at 730am (they purposely did this to make us realize that hospital nursing shifts start early *eyeroll*).
And then some semesters we also had clinicals on night shift once a week.
So no...I wasn't well rested :)
I'm wondering if I should use those extremely loud alarms on the opposite side of the room. Did anyone drink coffee in the morning to wake themselves?
