WAKEFOREST 2019 cohort

Anyone applying for the 2019 class? Or have any interview tips/application suggestions? Most of my coworkers from the PICU who are currently in CRNA school were rejected almost immediately after applying to wake forest which I find concerning for myself but i'm applying nonetheless :)

Hey there! I've applied as well. Haven't heard anything yet, but my references were just completed last week. Unfortunately, I don't really have a lot of inside info on their interview process, but best of luck to you! Hopefully we hear something soon.

Hey! I'll be applying later this year (in July). They are my number one choice. I don't think they take PICU/NICU, but hey, its worth a shot. Are you applying from out of state? Is this the only school you've applied to? I know there are some other schools that do accept PICU/NICU. I've heard a little about the interview but not much!

I'm honestly not sure how they prioritize NICU/PICU experience but I'm sure you could call the office and ask. Either way, I'm sure it doesn't hurt to give it a go! I've applied to and interviewed at two other schools. Waitlisted at one and waiting to hear back from the other.

I haven't heard a thing about their interview, so you probably know more than i do!

They do accept PICU, not sure how much they prioritize it though. I'm just being hopeful here.

Oh yeah, definitely give it a shot! What are your stats?

Anyone heard anything back yet? I know the email said we should hear back by early April but I get antsy! At this point last year, my coworkers who applied had already received their rejection letters so I'm assuming it's a good thing I haven't been notified of anything yet?

Did you already interview? How was it?

I got an email from the admissions office upon completing my application stating they would be sending out interview invitations in early April.

I GOT AN INTERVIEW!! I'm so happy, this is my absolute dream program. I'm in a state of shock. Good luck to you guys. Hope to see you there :)

Congrats! I got my interview invitation this mornning as well! Which interview date did you choose? I went with 5/29. I would have preferred to interview earlier but had work obligations on 5/8 that I couldn't get out of.

I chose the 8th, it seems like that date was very popular. I found the gap between the interview dates to be interesting. Last year the two interview days were on the same week so I'm not sure how they'll make their decisions this time. Will they interview all applicants first and then choose or will they have a certain number reserved for each date? Either way I'm very excited and looking forward to interviewing with them!

Hi all. I too have an interview (May 8th). Any info that can be passed along, would be much appreciated. I have a coworker who has interviewed at Wake. They said there are 3 parts. The first is an interview with around 3-5 people, which is conducted much like a typical job interview (strengths, weaknesses, etc.). The second, you are interviewed by a larger group (6-8), which focuses on science/ICU nursing knowledge. The third is a writing sample on a non-nursing topic where you are given a small passage to read and summarize. There is another nurse on my floor who is starting this fall, but they work nights and I haven't gotten a chance to pick their brain.
