WAKEFOREST 2019 cohort

Published

Anyone applying for the 2019 class? Or have any interview tips/application suggestions? Most of my coworkers from the PICU who are currently in CRNA school were rejected almost immediately after applying to wake forest which I find concerning for myself but i'm applying nonetheless :)

Hi all. I too have an interview (May 8th). Any info that can be passed along, would be much appreciated. I have a coworker who has interviewed at Wake. They said there are 3 parts. The first is an interview with around 3-5 people, which is conducted much like a typical job interview (strengths, weaknesses, etc.). The second, you are interviewed by a larger group (6-8), which focuses on science/ICU nursing knowledge. The third is a writing sample on a non-nursing topic where you are given a small passage to read and summarize. There is another nurse on my floor who is starting this fall, but they work nights and I haven't gotten a chance to pick their brain.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the info. I wish I had some insight as well but I don't know anything more than you do. I'm just going over my CCRN material and practicing typical interview questions. I really want to know how many of us they'll be taking! Look forward to meeting you on May 8th :)

I'm asking the nurse who was accepted about the interview process now. I'll give you an update shortly.

Each interview section is in front of a round table of 8-10 people. During the second portion, they give you a scenario of a crashing patient and you talk through what you would do. They throw a lot of situations at you... some of which are just to throw you off. They want to see how you handle pressure.

Is it just a single scenario that they just expand upon or multiple?

I look forward to meeting you too!

I believe it's just a single scenario that is expanded on. It will one from the patient population you typically care for.

Are you ready for Tuesday? I am beyond nervous! It's my first CRNA school interview.

I'm nervous as well! No, I'm not ready. It seemed too far away until to was too soon! Mine too.

I have short brown hair. I'll be wearing glasses and a gray suit with a blue tie. See you there!

I hope your interview went well! I fell more in love with wake forest, their program really impressed me. I'm anxious to hear back from them. Let me know when you receive notice :)

Same here! I felt like it went ok. The time goes by so quickly! I only got through a few questions during the personal interview portion. I threw a lot of info at them during the clinical portion :). Judging by last year's posts on here, it seems like they get back to us pretty fast. It was great to meet you and I hope we both get in!
