Wake Tech Fall 2020

Published

Is anyone applying to Wake Tech's ADN program for the Fall 2020? How many points do y'all have?

I also asked for the skills lab kit. ----------------------- mentioned that they will be available in bookstore this August (she said we won’t need it right away) and will be fully stocked because I checked the website and they’re still out of it right now. I already got my background check but I’m waiting for the rest to finish it all in one go when everything opens up again. Hopefully we will all have our clinicals and not have it as a teleconference because of the pandemic.

Yeah the skills lab kit has been out of stock for a while now(

I got my background check as well! Also need to renew my CPR and get a couple of vaccines, but my Dr is not taking patients right now. Hopefully the pandemic start to improve soon

I was wondering about the CPR renewal myself. Mine lapsed this past month, and No place is offering the class right now. I’m hoping that wake tech offers it later this Summer. I need to get a flu shot, but wonder if titers will suffice for some of the requirements. I had titers drawn for CNA since I could find my shot records, and I couldn’t get my previous Dr to send a copy because they were in offsite storage.

Triangle CPR are offering classes right now! Look them up, they have online options with in-person skills check off as well. I was wondering the same thing about the titers, if I could just get my records from the castle branch for my CNA and use those for ADN it would be great. So many questions..

"Scrub tops must have the Wake Tech Logo. You must come to the store to order emblems and scrubs or send a detailed email!! Check that stores can provide that or simply order the tops from the bookstore. We recommend two scrub tops (royal blue) and two pants (may be royal blue or white - no flare legs). See the attachment for above for acceptable styles and costs. You may shop at any uniform shop for scrubs that best fit your height and body type. The blue pant has to be the Cherokee blue color. Shoes must be closed toe and leather. Accepted colors are white, grey or black. See the Student Handbook related to shoes"

This is what I found in announcements, I guess I'll just email them for clarification (

Guess it was recommended that alternates order at least one set for now so I've decided to go ahead an order a pair, royal blue, online from Jaanuu. Jaannu and Figs have some really comfortable scrubs and they're having a special for nurses week. If the bookstore does have some sort of emblem then I'll see if they can place it on those scrubs. If not, then I'll just get some Wake Tech scrubs ?

Did y’all do your CNA through wake tech? Also I’m definitely getting my scrub bottoms elsewhere just to save money.

I’m in the pre-nursing program and will be going through the care one program

I’m planning to get all my classes knocked out and then take next Summer to complete nurse aide 1. Has Anyone in the nursing program done this?

but isn't it that the pants must be from Cherokee? that post is so confusing( thanks for the tip about the nurses week, I'll go ahead and order some bottoms!

I did my CNA through wake tech. I am gonna get my scrub pants elsewhere as they said getting different sizes can be difficult, and I wear a petite size. I’m just gonna get my tops through wake tech.

Yes everything has to be Cherokee brand. I think as long as its Cherokee brand you can order at least the pants from other companies. But not sure about tops since they need to have to logo on them.

I think it said Cherokee blue color but then it saus Royal Blue. Confusing!

I did my CNA certification thru CareOne a few years ago. Loved the instructors there but not sure if the ones I had are still there. It was a great class and they arrange all the CPR cents and TB tests there. It was nice that it took one month to do the classes and then you have to wait a couple weeks to do the state test but they take care of everything. Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!

Well, If everything goes as planned, I should be done with my pre-req classes by the end of next Spring semester. If I started the nurse aide 1 right after I finish classes, do you think I’d have enough time to finish, complete my test and apply for the Next nursing program available? The deadline for my application would be July 31st for nursing.

I did my class in February and the state test was March 17 so I would plan on at least 6-8 weeks prior to July 31st. Although they probably don’t verify your CNA1 status until sometime in August and you could explain your situation. You find out if you pass the state exam the day you take it. There may be a lag time for the results to be sent to DHHS but you’ll know you’ve passed right away. I would speak to an advisor at Wake Tech if you’re concerned about dates. Hope that helps!
