Wake Tech Fall 2020
I put my proof up but I didn’t get my flu shot until January of this year. And I am thinking they want us to get it September/October 2020 so when I do I will just replace or add a second document to Castlebranch proving that. Maybe you should email (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to see what you should do. Seems there is a little flexibility with this documentation as long as (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) is kept in the loop and knows what your plan is.

If you go to the bookstore website and search for NUR 111 class, it shows the SLS/SIM as a separate product from the My Lab and Pearson books. It was $278.50 I believe on the bookstore website. It might be helpful to you to check out the bookstore website to see what the products look like and the applicable ISBN numbers and prices you are dealing with. I will look on Amazon later today to see what I find.

I was able to register last night. On another note, I just purchased the books/My Lab from the Pearson website and for some reason, there was a $174 discount and free shipping for the books. I don’t know if that is normal or not but it was cheaper than Amazon. I ended up paying $747 for everything after taxes. Just wanted to let you know in case your hunting around for a deal.

I believe we have until the 13th. If I were you, I would email --------------------------- to let her know/ask her to clarify for you. I’m having to get titers (Can’t find my immunization records and there was no Varicella vaccine when I was a child) and have to get the TDAP vaccine. If my varicella titer comes back as negative and I have to get the 2-dose vaccine, she said I would get one dose in August and one in September so I think there is a little flexibility but she needs to know and to be kept in the loop. Hope that helps!

My friend who is starting with us in the program said the school was experiencing errors with the registration process so no one can register right now. I guess they are holding off on sending us our section numbers until the registration issues are worked out but I’m not positive. I haven’t received my section number either. Hope that helps!

I think we are going to do the one week on/2 weeks off schedule for the kids but I won’t know which weeks they will be in school for a while and the school year for them is going to be crazy that I thought it better to just do the afternoon clinicals. You’re a trooper to do the homeschooling. It will be nice tho to know someone in clinicals that will be kind of in the same boat as me LOL.

I did ask to be in the afternoon clinical. I have two children and thought it easier for my whole family if I could make sure they get to school in the morning and then head in to clinicals. Normal class days are fine as they start a little later than 6:45am LOL. And yes, it is by request

We have to BUY a code to see the requirements? I thought ****** said she was going to send out the info for the medical requirements next week. This is so messed up because we would normally have the orientation in May and have until August to get everything done. I wish this information was more forthcoming.

ATI is the company that administers the TEAS test but they also do other preparation materials. I believe we will be using some of their test prep and other modules as we go thru the nursing program. Sounds like we will have access to purchase the modules when we start school. It looks like there is fundamentals of nursing and pharmacology modules that we will most likely use to supplement our learning. Hope that helps!

I believe to stay active, you would need to work 8 paid hours every two years. But I guess you might be able to time it right to certify close to the time of starting the nursing program and you are certified for 2 years off the bat and wouldn’t need to work as a CNA at all. For example, I became a CNA in March 2016 and didn’t work until March of 2018 so I could keep my certification active. I continued to work part time as a CNA and am starting the nursing program this August. But I was still certified with the state from March 2016-March 2018 without ever working as a CNA. You may want to double check with the school and state in case anything has changed but I believe you are certified for 2 years before you have to worry about maintaining or re-certifying your credentials. Hope that helps!
