Hi all! Just wondering who will be applying to the Wake Tech RN program in January, for the Fall 2017 start? I'm finishing up BIO168, BIO175, PSY241 and SOC210 this semester. If I can maintain all As, and get 12 points on my ATI TEAS, I'll have 161 points. Based on the last two classes' initial acceptance ranges, I feel like I'll be an alternate.
Yeah maybe that's what I was wondering. We will find out at orientation because if people don't show up they basically forfeit their spot and I guess they figure out alternate numbers then, and maybe from that point they will change on blackboard not sure I wonder if a few people have the same points how do they go about choosing who is next in line?
I was just wondering about that myself! Alphabetically maybe? Who knows lol. Hopefully they answer our hundreds of questions during orientation and if not we can just ask someone after. I'm also hoping a lot of alternates will get a spot at the end of orientation or shortly after like I've read on previous semesters. You'd for sure get one of those spots with one point behind! I'm praying I'm near the top too with 157 so I don't have to wait too long for a spot, if I get one that is:cautious:
I swear you are reading my mind today, Mrslaflin!! Right after I posted that earlier and thought more about it I thought of those possibilities too:yes: I'm sure you will get your spot within the first week after if not at orientation, but as for me I feel like I will most likely be waiting much longer. I will say this though. I'm really mourning those 8 extra points I could have had from my TEAS right about now! I was only 2 points away from the extra 20:arghh: And unfortunately I didn't have the extra 30 days to try and retake it before the deadline.
Did anyone apply to other schools programs and get accepted? I'm curious just because I had looked into doing that a while ago even though Wake was always my first choice, but every other school I had looked at required completely different prerequisites. So I didn't really see the point but I'm just wondering if there is anyone who did, how did other schools point systems and course requirements compare to Wake's?
Oh and as for the blackboard thing, I'm thinking that the "next in line: 1" announcement is referring to the alternate that will receive the next open spot when and if one becomes available. I'm sure in the weeks following orientation as more alternates accept seats that do become available the number will keep going down the line as a way of letting us know where we stand. But I don't know I'm just guessing. That would make sense though and be convenient for us and advising too. They probably got tired of all the alternates harassing them with frantic emails and phone calls and thought "okay we need to do something about this"

Same! I still think as high alternates we stand a pretty good chance. Just more waiting and anxiety of course haha
