What if you apply to go to any of the sites? Does that lesson the wait time? I can't decide if I want to apply for the MPAC (4-5 hrs from all sites) or NPAC which I am 8 hours away from all of them....I try not to think about it since I still have a few more tests, but I'm such a planner.......

The NPAC has a shorter wait. So if you don't want to wait long you can apply there. I think people are testing 4-6 months with the NPAC.
MPAC = Midwestern Performance Assessment Center; governs the CPNE sites in Wisconsin, Ohio, and Texas.
NPAC = Northern Performance Assessment Center; governs the CPNE sites in New York and Pennsylvania
SPAC = Southern Performance Assessment Center; governs the CPNE sites in Georgia.
Collectively, they're called the RPACs -- Regional Performance Assessment Centers. There is more information on the sites here:
Click on the link for "Regional Performance Assessment Centers (RPACs)" on that page. I think you'll probably have to log in to the site at that point.

I'm a planner too! I have spoken with an advisor, her advice was to apply to all areas, you will have to pay a little more for background checks, but you have a better chance of not waiting as long. Also, since I have to fly no matter what RPAC I get, I am going to say I only need a couple days notice. She said some people will need to reschedule at the last minute and they will call someone else. I can't imagine waiting all that time and having to reschedule, I would die! So once my application is being processed I am going to pack a bag and wait for the the call. I know I'm probably kidding myself, but it is just wishful thinking.
formfly: You are so funny! I would be so stressed leaving last minute.. I would however ideally like a 5-6 month wait. If I go NPAC, I'm assuming I'll fly, so that may ruin my idea of bringing husband along.Such decisions!
My husband does not have a choice, he is coming with me! Someone needs to put me in check when I start freaking out before I even leave the hotel room! And don't forget I have two kids, the more income this family has the better!
Good luck tomorrow, you are going to be fine! Let me know as soon as you get home.
