waiting for results

Published

I took my nclex on 2/21 here in california, and i'm still waiting for my results.. it's driving me and everyone around me absolutely mad!!! I'm on the verge of depression. My husband and my kids don't think I'm the same person because of how i'm behaving lately... I don't want to feel like my life depends on the nclex results but i can't help it.... this is what I've worked sooo hard for the last 4 years of my life... my only consolation is that I know my family and friends will not judge me based on wether I pass the nclex or not....:o

thanks immortal us... i got a lot of priority question and teaching questions.. my test stopped at 180 's or 190's.... i felt that i was only sure on about 25% of the questions or maybe less.... everyone said that the number of the test does not matter but my numbers left me feeling very unsure..... i can't wait for the day that i open the brn website and i see my name there with rn at the end...;) ... till then pls keep me in your prayers..

thanks,

zarina

hi zarina! im frm cali too.i took mine 2/22 & no results yet!!i stoppd at 190!i dnt feel so good with my number either :o so, i knw exactly hw u feel.. i jst think its unfair that other states support quick results wherein they can find out if they passed or failed 2-3 days after. why we dont hav it here in cali is mind-boggling and so frustrating! waiting is pure agony! hw mch longer do we hv to wait?? people, any tips on how to relax wyl waiting?

I know what you mean Amber..... yesterday I practically scrubbed the whole bathroom from top to bottom while doing the laundry...:uhoh3: lol... I also just spend time with my kids.. but there were also two days that I literally staye on the couch from sunrise to sundown.. I just stayed there and stared at the television coz my energy was so spent on worrying about the exam... anyway goodluck to both of us amber....

haha i tried that too--doing absolutely nothing the whole day!! bt then i felt like vomiting every nw & then!lol.. so i also tried doing anything & everything except touching d nclex books jst to distract my mind!! in the end, i opted to pray!it helps a great deal to calm one's mind... so nway, il be following this thread... ul give them a call this tuesday, ryt? let us knw hw that goes,ok?... til then lets pray for eachother!:-)

Hi there, I took the CA boards here in Minnesota. It sounds as though we may be able to check on the website for a license number? Have you heard what it means when you get 265 questions? I have been reading endless information, it ends up with saying that you have to meet a "passing standard"....is every state different, and do you know what the "standard" is for CA? Have you talked to anyone who took all 265 questions and passed vs. Failed? This is hard, I'm restlessly wondering what I would do as a plan B, kinda tough when I have a job and an apartment waiting for our move to Cali in two weeks! Tina

Hi Amber... I would definitely posted... I'll try to call them on tuesday but I'm not sure because I have some new grad class I have to take on that day at work... that's right.. I already accepted a position as a nurse using my IP... so my job is riding on this nclex results.. If I'm done early with the class and the BRN is still open.. I'll call them and let you know what happened...Tina (redhead)... everyone says that the number of questions don't really matter but I know exactly how you feel. I got about 190 questions and that number had been looming in my head now for over 1 week... let's just pray and keep positive that we all pass!!! the brochure from pearson said that 85% of the people that took it the first time pass.. I think this is a very good number and the odds are on our side so cheers to us all waiting for the results.. I'll say a prayer for all of us tonite. xoxo Zarina

Tina... what part of cali are u moving to.. if you don't mind me asking... I'm from southern cali... LA county... I hope you'll get the results soon so you could start packing.. better yet..start now.. I have a good feeling about all of our test so it'll be good to get a head start..

not really, if you think about it, ca is the only state in the us that will permit a new grad to take the exam before they have a complete file on them. so either way, you would be waiting. all other states require that they have a complete file before they will permit you to sit for the exam.

if you do have a ssn#, and have been wating this long, i suggest that you phone the brn and find out if they have a complete file on you. there may have been an issue with your fingerprints, a photo, etc. and they will not notify you that your file is not complete. some schools also take their time in submitting transcripts. so do not bblme it strictly on the brn, unless you know that it is specifically their issue.

There are not different standards for each state, it is a national exam. And quite afew have passed with 265. The number of questions means absolutely nothing.

If you did your training in another state, then they will not release permission for you to sit for the exam until they have a complete file on you. Just look for your name on the CA BRN website under license verification. But give it a week or so, each completed file is reviewed by a human.

thanx, suzanne, il do jst that!

hi tina! i have a cousin who took the nclex for the 2nd tym, with 265 questions, he passed! on his first try, he stopped at 78, he failed! the numbers dnt matter! so as long as the results are not yet in, i figured we're stl all in the game!:) god bless us all!:)

Hi guys-thanks for the feedback! Zarina, I am moving to Sacramento....more northern CA. My boyfriend and I took jobs at Mercy General in downtown Sacramento. I have always lived in Minneapolis, so this will be interesting!! Either way with Nclex results, the movers are coming on the 17th! I've calmed down quite a bit since I took the test last friday....I just think it is very confusing how to interpret the CAT. All of the info about "passing standard" is vague to me thus far. Anyhow, thanks for your support! Tina
