Waiting for the release of the January 2010 Air Force Boards for Nursing

Hi Everyone,

I'm new to this site, but have been reading your posts for a while. Many of you have posted things that have been very helpful. It's great to know that we all have had many of the same experiences. I am currently in the process of trying to be accepted into the air force. I have completed everything and am waiting on the January board release (that was supposed to have been released 1st week of February.) Is anyone in the same position as me? If so, what have you heard? Thanks!

You need to go to the government post area under specialty.

ahh the waiting game... it's never-ending. travelcrazy... be prepared for a long wait. keep yourself busy. my completed app went into the november boards for which the results were supposed to come out in the last week of november. i didn't hear anything until two weeks after the deadline that i was accepted and not until a month later for my stationing assignments.

I just want to quote you what MANY of my former military member coworkers have quoted me, "Hurry up, and WAIT". In other words fill out the paper work they give you as soon as possible and keep in touch with your recruiter. Keep copies of everything, and expect to wait to hear anything. I started applying in January of 08, and because of "life" I am finally leaving March '10. It can be a long process, but it is well worth it. Keep in touch if you need any help.

Just wanted to let you all know that I spoke with my recruiter today. Apparently the fully qualified boards were not decided in January and are being pushed back until March 3. The NTP were apparently overwhelming and pushed the FQ back. Good news....they are supposed to be saving May, June, August COT dates for the fully qualified. So now I still wait.

I'm still waiting. My packet went in October 28th and was supposed to hear back in December to go to COT in January (2010), which has come and gone. Don't put to much hope and faith in these magic dates. They keep telling me it'll happen, and I keep waiting. :)

Wow...well, I hope you hear soon. I know that is frustrating. I guess all you can do is think positively and just go about your business in the meantime. That's what I'm trying to do. :)

I'm really not trying to be a downer. I just think that folks need to be aware of this and to not get discouraged. Eventually, they'll catch up with the nurses wanting in.

I want you all to know that the same thing happened to me when I was waiting--packet submitted in Oct, boards kept getting pushed back, then finally heard in March. I too came in as fully qualified. The wait is excruciating! Once I found out I was in I left for COT two months later. I really do believe that they hold spaces in the summer COT classes for those fully qualified RNs. Hang in there!
