Hi Everyone! I am currently completing the last class at PJC pre-reqs and co-reqs. I was notified that I have been accepted and am on board to start clinicals in January. Was curious if there is anyone out there going to be starting at PJC in the Spring also? Oh...I have submitted applications to Sacred Heart Hospital for a scholarship too. Hoping to hear from them soon also.
you have 35 questions that you have to complete in 30 minutes. But the lady was a bit unfair, as soon as I signed in she started my time...which meant about one minute was deducted from my time because I had to grab my papers...go to my seat and try and quickly get situated. I didnt have time to finish the last two questions and in my mind that time that was lost in the start up could have been applied to the last two problems. But oh well. Next time I know. I am actually going to request that she not start my time until I am seated...for the purpose of being fair, ya know!?! What are the stipulations for having the test proctored somewhere else?
I took the NLN this saturday, and I passed! Well at least I think I did. My composite score was a 126?? But I am not sure which one of the many scores PJC uses? I tried to check the PJC website, but they have the new HESI A2 requirments up.. So, I am hoping that I did pass! Now all I have left is the Health related Math Test!!
Congratulations Noel!! Good luck on the HRMT! I hear it's pretty simple...30 basic questions...no calculator allowed.
I'm also a PJC'er. Will be taking the NLN March 13th and am taking the HRMT soon. They are grandfathering those of us who have already signed up and paid to take the NLN instead of the HESI A2.
congrats noel! :w00t:
to see if you passed, you have to look at the top right hand section of the paper. there should be a little section that says (ad /di/ all) followed with a number under each section. as long as the ad has 50 or higher..then you passed!! judging from the composite of 126, i'd say you did however, the ad score at the top is what really counts. let me know!
I just took the NLN last Saturday and passed. I still have the HRMT to take though. After this semester I will only have my college algebra left to take. I will have completed everything outside the nursing program. I talked to someone in the nursing department over at the Warrington Campus last week to make sure I was on track. She said that when I finish up my college algebra in May that I will be put on the waiting list. She said that right now it's looking like the students that finish up in May will get into the program in January 2011. I am looking into transferring to another college, either Faulkner or Jeff Davis. I have busted my butt to get all my classes outside the program finished in order to get into the program quicker, I have no intention on sitting around for 8 months on a waiting list.
Congrats Desiree38! I am in the same boat as far as almost being done with everything. In the spring I am taking my last 3 classes outside of the 7 nursing ones and the HRMT is done. It sucks that the waiting list has already stretched to Spring 2011. If I hadn't have finshed College Algebra this summer and passed the NLN test in Sept..I probably woudn't be starting this fall either. It's good that u are looking at your other options because 8 mos is along time to wait. I heard that Jeff Davis has less reqmnts so it is easier to get in over there. Well, good luck! :redpinkhe
Desiree38, you must have taken it this weekend with me than! CONGRATS on Passing, it was a bear! I definetly understand your frustration! I finish my rep-reqs this December (in like 2 weeks) and the lady at PJC told me that since I am transfering my grades from another school that my canadacy date would be later than those students at PJC who finish in December. Which is super frustrating considering how I get done at the same time! But basically that will push me back to that I would get pushed into the Spring of 2011, That is just too long. That is a year of waiting for me!!
Just wanted to say Thank you to everyone on here that gave me advice on entrance exams and all the study guide info! I have passed both tests because of everyones help! I am really hoping for an alternate spot! I talk to PJC and now they have 129 qualified applicants for the Fall of 2010, wow! But Good Luck to everyone!
hey hey whats up guys, congrats on the testing . I start in 3 weeks! My friends say that the program is mostly just alot of reading, and you may not get as much from the lectures then reading the same topic in the book. Also, both my friends that are in it now are not taking any other classes other than nursing classes. It's probably harder if you work and have kids along with other classes, I assume you will be losing a lot of sleep
. But good luck and hope to see many of you in the next few semesters.
Be cool...
Hey Noel...they like the progam and they are doing well...One of them got a B and the other got an A in both classes. I meet another guy that started it, got good grades and he doesn't want to continue the program so he quit. He said it just wasn't for him... But ya... so anyways I picked up some of my books today and I am still waiting for my box set haha...thnx for the words of advice
. I will do fine, the most stressful part will be commuting back and fourth 3-4 times a week :angryfire

Hellofromcrestview,
Thank you! Dont be Discouraged about the Health Related Math Test, 90-days is only 2 months, it will be here before you know it! I am trying to schedule all of my tests, but I have to get the Health related one Proctored because I do not live in pensacola currently. I will have to check your advice on the free sources for Vocab! PJC told me that they have a website that is dedicated to help wit the math questions on the Heath related math exam. I am trying to remember what the link is. It has a lot of free math practice. If I remember I will post the link. How long does the Health related math test take?
