I finished my NCLEX-RN today with 75 questions. I was surprised it stopped at 75 because this is my third time and I've had to answer 265, 265 for my previous attempts. Like most, I got many priority questions and probably 4-5 select all that apply. I recognized that the exam was hard, but I tried my best and applied what I know to eliminate the wrong answers. I went back to Kaplan for the second time and did about 1000 questions at the study center the week before the test....I hope it was worth it. Good luck to everybody preparing for this exam. It's a lot of hard work and definitely NOT an experience worth repeating.

hi nate. i have a question for you, how did you study/prepare differently to the other times? I am waiting for my results. I took the test on Thursday and I'm not quite sure that I was succesful at the second attempt. The first time, I also had 265, however, this second time I only had like 88 questions. How long did you give yourself to study the 3rd time? How long did it take you to "bounce back" from sadness, anger, etc. I'm scared and I feel like all my hard work has gone down the drown. Thanks.

Good luck hopenfaith, we are all awaiting our results.
Hi Hope,
It's not over until you get your official notice...so try and keep your head up. That's what I'm trying to do. :) After failing for the 2nd time, I cried for about 5 minutes....felt sorry for myself...then decided that there must be something I'm not doing right. This time around I went back to Kaplan and did their in-class review, completed their QBank of about 1000 questions, and did an additional 1000 review questions from Kaplan the week before the test. I didn't go to work for about 2 weeks prior to my exam because I really had to focus everything I had on this study period. I hope it all paid off because I'm not sure what else I could've done. I did Saunder's and Mosby's in the past, but Kaplan seemed to best prepare me. We'll see if it worked....hopefully we both passed!!!

Hi Nate,
I was there last week and its a stressful feeling.I got my new RN license in the mail today and I think you soon will too.I have heard that if you get 75 and you are getting the tougher acuity questions then the odds are in your favor that you have passed the NCLEX.I am soooo happy to be done and now the real work begins!I hope we see your success post real soon-also check the BRN web site late at night -sometimes they dont update the passers till after midnight.Best of luck.Robert RN

what else could we do eccept waiting and hoping....i had my test on wednesday and still waiting i am so loaded that no body can talk to me:angryfire can't do any thing.....
hey nate. thanks for your story. i am trying very hard to keep my head up. i have done exactly what you did. i attended kaplan twice (the whole course), i used their resources, i did the question trainer 2 times as well as the q-bank 2 times. my readiness test was in the passing range. i also did mosby's CAT, saunder's questions. i did so many questions. i prepared a great deal for this test; however, i felt that no matter how much studying i did it didn't matter when it came to the test. I felt that when i used the strategies kaplan taught us i would still get down to two very good answer choices which rung my brain. the reason why i'm scared is because i never was 100% sure on the answers i chose because there was still that 50% chance i would not choose the "ideal/correct" answer choice. nate, i will pray for you, for me, and for everyone else. i agree with what you said that i hope everything we did was good enough to make us pass because we did all that we could.

Nate, any news?
Hi Student,
Nope...no news yet. I couldn't help but call the BRN today even though it's only been 2 days. This guy said I have "nothing to worry about" but I'm not gonna hold my breath to that statement. Yesterday I went to Disneyland and today I'm gonna take my son to the park.... just so I can get out of the house and stop obsessing. Still waiting.....
